Its significance lies in its pivotal role in facilitating metabolic processes crucial for survival. Additionally, Mn exerts influence over various biological functions including bone formation and maintenance, as well as regulation within systems governing immunity, nervous signaling, and digestion. Manganese nanoparticles (Mn-NP) stand out as a beacon of promise within the realm of immunotherapy, their focus honed on intricate mechanisms such as triggering immune pathways, igniting inflammasomes, inducing immunogenic cell death (ICD), and sculpting the nuances of the tumor microenvironment. These minuscule marvels have dazzled researchers with their potential in reshaping the landscape of cancer immunotherapy – serving as potent vaccine enhancers, efficient drug couriers, and formidable allies when paired with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) or cutting-edge photodynamic/photothermal therapies. Herein, we aim to provide a comprehensive review of recent advances in the application of Mn and Mn-NP in the immunotherapy of cancer. We hope that this review will display an insightful view of Mn-NPs and provide guidance for design and application of them in immune-based cancer therapies. \nKeywords Immunotherapy · Cancer · Manganese · Drug delivery · Nanoparticle \nAbbreviations \nACT Adoptive Cell Therapy \nADC Antibody-Drug Conjugates \nADCC Antibody-Dependent Cell-Mediated \nAli Moosavi Zenooz and Majid Eterafi contributed equally to this work. \n􀀍 Elham Safarzadeh \n[Elham.im63@gmail.com](Elham.im63@gmail.com); [Safarzadehelham@yahoo.com](Safarzadehelham@yahoo.com) \nAli Moosavi Zenooz \n[ali.m.zenooz252510@gmail.com](ali.m.zenooz252510@gmail.com) \nMajid Eterafi \n[m.eterafi77@gmail.com](m.eterafi77@gmail.com) \nSoheilAzarmi Giglou \n[soheilazarmi1@gmail.com](soheilazarmi1@gmail.com) \n1 Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy Research Center, Ardabil University of Medical Sciences, Ardabil, Iran \n2 Students Research Committee, Ardabil University of Medical Sciences, Ardabil, Iran \n3 Department of Microbiology, Parasitology and Immunology, School of Medicine, Ardabil University of Medical Sciences, Ardabil 5166614711, Iran \nADCP \nAML \nAPMP \nCDC \nCDT \nCTLA-4 \nCTLs \nDAMP \nDC \nDMT1 \nDOX \nDTX \nEGFR \nEPR \nER \nETC \nFDA \nGSH \nGSS \nGT \nCytotoxicity \nAntibody-Dependent Cell-Mediated Phagocytosis \nAcute Myeloid Leukemia \nAmorphous Porous Manganese Phosphate Complement-Dependent Cytotoxicity Chemodynamic Treatment \nCytotoxic T-Lymphocyte–Associated Antigen 4 \nCytotoxic T Lymphocytes \nDamage-Associated Molecular Patterns Dendritic Cells \nDivalent Metal Ion Transporter-1 \nDoxorubicin \nDocetaxel \nEpidermal Growth Factor Receptor Enhanced Permeability and Retention Endoplasmic Reticulum \nElectron Transport Chain Food and Drug Administration Glutathione \nGlutathione Disulfide Gene Therapy \nHCC \nHSA \nICB \nICD \nICG \nICIs \nIRF \nISGs \nMDSC \nMn \nMnO2 Mn-NP \nMnO-NPs \nMPT \nMRI \nOV \nOVA \nPAI \nPD-1 \nPDT \nPTT \nRIT \nROS \nSDT \nSOD \nSPIO \nSTING \nTAAs \nTAMs \nTBK \nTME \nTMO \nUSPIO \nHepatocellular Carcinoma Human Serum Albumin Immune Checkpoint Blockade Immunogenic Cell Death Indocyanine Green \nImmune Checkpoint Inhibitors Interferon Regulatory Factor 3 \nInterferon Stimulated Genes Myeloid Derived Suppresser Cells Manganese \nManganese Dioxide Manganese Nanoparticle \nMn Oxide Nanoparticles Mitochondrial Permeability Transition Magnetic Resonance Imaging Onc","cbCaia69Lm7PxRie","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaia69Lm7PxRie","pdf",2766554,22,"English","# Abstract\n# Keywords\n# Abbreviations\n# Introduction","[{\"question\":\"Why is manganese important in biological systems?\",\"answer\":\"Manganese is an essential trace metal that facilitates metabolic processes necessary for survival.
