They highlighted the need to focus on strengthening country resilience beyond macro-economic and climate challenges.  \nDirectors expressed support for the WBG’s engagement with Egypt at this critical juncture of its development path. They underscored the need for continued reforms to address long-standing challengesand strengthen the country’s resilience. Directors appreciated the linkages between the CPF and the recently completed Systematic Country Diagnostic (SCD), Country Private Sector Diagnostic (CPSD), and Country Climate and Development Report (CCDR) . They encouraged the team to continue focusing on adaptation and climate resiliency in implementing the strategy and welcomed the pursuit of improving resilience to shocks.  \nDirectors encouraged Management to incorporate the lessons learned from the previous CPF and stressed the need for more efforts to support market-oriented transformation. They highlighted the importance of maintaining flexibility within this CPF to enable the WBG to respond to immediate priorities, while maintaining the focus on the longer-term structural reforms, including expanding private sector participation in the economy, promoting domestic resource mobilization (DRM), and boosting job creation for Egypt’s growing youth.  \nDirectors reiterated the importance of maintaining a strong Human Development program with a special focus on health and education particularly of the young while strengthening social safety nets and addressing population challenges. They appreciated the cross-cutting themes of gender and citizen engagement. They stressed the importance of enhancing women’s participation in Egypt’s economic development and improving women’s access to more and better jobs and to digital, financial, and physical assets. They also highlighted the need for access to data, including the latest poverty trends.  \nFinally, Directors asked Management to strengthen coordination with regional initiatives and other development partners, including the IMF, to support further structural reforms. They stressed the need to facilitate elaboration on the Nexus of Water, Food, and Energy (NWFE) Program.
