It explains that qualification grade boundaries are applied using aggregated component marks at key grade thresholds to produce the overall qualification total reported on results slips. Separate notional component boundaries are provided to support centres’ analysis and guidance, with highlighted thresholds set through professional judgement, noting that notional component totals may not match qualification-level scaled boundaries.",{"@graph":14,"@context":66},[15,34,49],{"@type":16
BreadcrumbList",[18,23,27,31
@type":21
https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",1
@type":21
https://docshare.wps.com/document/","Document",2
@type":21
https://docshare.wps.com/document/exam/","Exam",3
@type":21
https://docshare.wps.com/document/eduqas-gcse-grade-points-june-2025/206588/",4
@type":35
"DigitalDocument
@type":38},"Rhys","Person
@type":41},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-09-05",true,{"@type":46
InteractionCounter",{"@type":48},"ViewAction",{"@type":50
FAQPage",[52,58,62
@type":54
How are overall GCSE grades calculated for Eduqas reformed general qualifications in June 2025?","Question
@type":57},"Qualification grade boundaries are reached by aggregating component marks at key grade boundaries to form a total mark, which determines the overall qualification grade shown on results slips.","Answer
@type":54
What are component grade boundaries and how should they be used?
@type":57},"Component boundaries are provided as notional guide points to support centres’ analysis. This means that candidates must take all the components within the specification within one examination series.
The grade boundaries for each qualification are shown below. Component marks at key grade boundaries are aggregated to create a total mark, which is used to calculate the overall qualification grade for each candidate. Candidates will receive the total aggregated mark and the overall grade on their results slips.
The grade boundaries for each component are also shown below. The highlighted grade boundaries were set using professional judgement.
Component boundaries are 'notional' and intended only as a guide to aid centres with their analysis, and are not official grades. Please note that notional component grade boundaries which have been derived arithmetically may not add up to the overall qualification-level boundary where component marks have been scaled to produce the qualification-level mark.

| Entry
Code | Subject/Component | Maximum
Mark | Weighting
Factor | 9 | 8 | 7 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 2 | 1 |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| C650QS | ART & DESIGN (ART, CRAFT & DESIGN) | 200 | | 188 | 176 | 165 | 147 | 129 | 111 | 80 | 50 | 20 |
| C650U10 | Component 1-Portfolio: Art, Craft and Design | 120 | 1.0000 | 112 | 106 | 100 | 90 | 80 | 69 | 50 | 31 | 12 |
| C650U20 | Component 2-Externally Set Assignment: Art, Craft and Design | 80 | 1.0000 | 76 | 70 | 65 | 57 | 49 | 42 | 30 | 19 | 8 |
| C651QS | ART & DESIGN (FINE ART) | 200 | | 188 | 176 | 165 | 147 | 129 | 111 | 80 | 50 | 20 |
| C651U10 | Component 1-Portfolio: Fine Art | 120 | 1.0000 | 112 | 106 | 100 | 90 | 80 | 69 | 50 | 31 | 12 |
| C651U20 | Component 2-Externally Set Assignment: Fine Art | 80 | 1.0000 | 76 | 70 | 65 | 57 | 49 | 42 | 30 | 19 | 8 |
| C653QS | ART & DESIGN (TEXTILE DESIGN) | 200 | | 188 | 176 | 165 | 147 | 129 | 111 | 80 | 50 | 20 |
| C653U10 | Component 1-Portfolio: Textile Design | 120 | 1.0000 | 112 | 106 | 100 | 90 | 80 | 69 | 50 | 31 | 12 |
| C653U20 | Component 2-Externally Set Assignment: Textile Design | 80 | 1.0000 | 76 | 70 | 65 | 57 | 49 | 42 | 30 | 19 | 8 |
| C654QS | ART & DESIGN (GRAPHIC COMMUNICATION) | 200 | | 188 | 176 | 165 | 147 | 129 | 111 | 80 | 50 | 20 |
| C654U10 | Component 1-Portfolio: Graphic Communication | 120 | 1.0000 | 112 | 106 | 100 | 90 | 80 | 69 | 50 | 31 | 12 |
| C654U20 | Component 2-Externally Set Assignment: Graphic Communication | 80 | 1.0000 | 76 | 70 | 65 | 57 | 49 | 42 | 30 | 19 | 8 |
| C655QS | ART & DESIGN (THREE-DIMENSIONAL DESIGN) | 200 | | 188 | 176 | 165 | 147 | 129 | 111 | 80 | 50 | 20 |
| C655U10 | Component 1-Portfolio: Three-Dimensional Design | 120 | 1.0000 | 112 | 106 | 100 | 90 | 80 | 69 | 50 | 31 | 12 |
| C655U20 | Component 2-Externally Set Assignment: Three-Dimensional Design | 80 | 1.0000 | 76 | 70 | 65 | 57 | 49 | 42 | 30 | 19 | 8 |
| C656QS | ART & DESIGN (PHOTOGRAPHY) | 200 | | 188 | 176 | 165 | 147 | 129 | 111 | 80 | 50 | 20 |
| C656U10 | Component 1-Portfolio: Photography | 120 | 1.0000 | 112 | 106 | 100 | 90 | 80 | 69 | 50 | 31 | 12 |
| C656U20 | Component 2-Externally Set Assignment: Photography | 80 | 1.0000 | 76 | 70 | 65 | 57 | 49 | 42 | 30 | 19 | 8 |
| C510QS | BUSINESS | 160 | | 121 | 113 | 105 | 93 | 81 | 69 | 51 | 34 | 17 |
| C510U10 | Component 1-Business Dynamics | 100 | 1.0000 | 77 | 72 | 67 | 59 | 51 | 43 | 31 | 20 | 9 |
| C510U20 | Component 2-Business Considerations | 60 | 1.0000 | 44 | 41 | 38 | 34 | 30 | 26 | 20 | 14 | 8 |
| C500QS | COMPUTER SCIENCE | 200 | | 161 | 148 | 135 | 115 | 95 | 76 | 54 | 32 | 10 |
| C500U10 | Component 1-Understanding Computer Science | 100 | 1.0000 | 73 | 64 | 55 | 46 | 36 | 27 | 20 | 13 | 6 |
| C500U20 | Component 2-Computational Thinking and Programming | 80 | 1.2500 | 70 | 67 | 64 | 55 | 47 | 39 | 27 | 15 | 3 |

WJEC (Re","cbCaifsO2o06v8zx","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaifsO2o06v8zx","pdf",196521,"English","# Grade point methodology
## Linear qualification structure
## Aggregation of component marks
## Notional component boundaries and professional judgement","[{"question":"How are overall GCSE grades calculated for Eduqas reformed general qualifications in June 2025?","answer":"Qualification grade boundaries are reached by aggregating component marks at key grade boundaries to form a total mark, which determines the overall qualification grade shown on results slips."},{"question":"What are component grade boundaries and how should they be used?","answer":"Component boundaries are provided as notional guide points to support centres’ analysis.
