They’ll develop a core statistical grounding, as well as transferable skills and understanding that’s applicable to a range of other subjects. It will also benefit those progressing to many A-level subjects.  \nWhat will I study?  \nGCSE Statistics studies three key areas:  \n1. The collection of data  \n2. Processing, representing and analysing data  \n3. Probability  \nThe order of the content, for each tier, follows the order of the statistical enquiry cycle.  \nPractical investigations are part of a programme of study so that students  \nhave the opportunity to understand that different approaches, including the use of  \ntechnology, may be appropriate at each stage of the statistical enquiry cycle, and that statistical conclusions are developed through an iterative process of testing and refinement  \nHow will I be assessed?  \nGCSE Statistics is assessed in two exams at the end of the course.  \nThere are 2 tiers of entry – Foundation (Grade 1-5) Higher (Grade 4-9)  \n• Unit 1: examination lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes. Worth 50% of final grade.  \n• Unit 2: examination lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes.
