The resource includes a comprehensive list of nature-related terms, such as forest, recycle, and water, presented in both uppercase and lowercase card formats to support various developmental stages. By integrating tactile tasks like cutting, coloring, and sentence construction, the activity aims to enhance children's print awareness, alphabet recognition, and vocabulary development. Parents can introduce these materials to foster independent learning, with differentiated exercises tailored for children under five, kindergarten preparation, and older students, effectively bridging the gap between artistic play and literacy acquisition.",{"@graph":14,"@context":73},[15,34,56],{"@type":16,"itemListElement":17},"BreadcrumbList",[18,23,27,31],{"item":19,"name":20,"@type":21,"position":22},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",1,{"item":24,"name":25,"@type":21,"position":26},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/","Document",2,{"item":28,"name":29,"@type":21,"position":30},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/general/","General",3,{"item":32,"name":10,"@type":21,"position":33},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/earth-day-word-cards-preschool-language-activity/408684/",4,{"url":32,"name":10,"@type":35,"image":36,"author":41,"headline":10,"publisher":44,"fileFormat":47,"inLanguage":8,"description":12,"dateModified":48,"datePublished":49,"encodingFormat":47,"isAccessibleForFree":50,"interactionStatistic":51},"DigitalDocument",{"url":37,"@type":38,"width":39,"height":40},"https://docshare.wps.com/thumbnails/earth-day-word-cards-preschool-language-activity/408684.png","ImageObject",300,407,{"name":42,"@type":43},"Miles","Person",{"url":19,"name":45,"@type":46},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-10-21","2026-09-28",true,{"@type":52,"interactionType":53,"userInteractionCount":55},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":54},"ViewAction",7,{"@type":57,"mainEntity":58},"FAQPage",[59,65,69],{"name":60,"@type":61,"acceptedAnswer":62},"What Language: Earth Day Word Cards \nLearning Value: \nThis activity promotes development and learning by encouraging children to demonstrate their knowledge of print and alphabet, as well as understand and use a growing vocabulary. \nMaterials Needed: \n􀁦 Earth Day Word Cards (below) \n􀁦 Scissors \n􀁦 Paper \n􀁦 Crayons or pencil \nParticipants: \nThis activity does require a parent to introduce the materials but ongoing parent interaction is not needed. \nDirections: \nStep 1: Print and cut out the Earth Day Word Cards. Your child might be able to help with this. If your child is under the age of 5, only cut out the upper case letter cards. Children over 5 should use the lower case letter cards. \nStep 2: Read each word card for your child and talk about the letters the words start with. Step 3: Allow your child to use the word cards in a way that meets their abilities. For example: \n􀁦 Young preschoolers might want to color the word cards and attempt to write some of the letters. Coloring gets fingers ready to write. \n􀁦 Kindergarten Prep age children might want to use each word to make a short sentence. \n􀁦 Kindergarten age children and older might want to create a story using all of the words. \n\n| EARTH | FOREST |\n| --- | --- |\n| RAIN | WATER |\n| TREE | PLANT |\n| ANIMAL | INSECT |\n| SOIL | RECYCLE |\n| SUN | WIND |\n\n\n| earth | forest |\n| --- | --- |\n| rain | water |\n| tree | plant |\n| animal | insect |\n| soil | recycle |\n| sun | wind |","cbCaisN4TEK74mV1","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaisN4TEK74mV1","pdf",129485,"English","# Preschool Language Activity: Earth Day Word Cards\n## Learning Objectives and Materials\n## Instructions for Implementation\n## Earth Day Word List","[{\"question\":\"What is the primary goal of the Earth Day Word Cards activity?\",\"answer\":\"The activity promotes the development of print and alphabet recognition while helping children expand their vocabulary through engaging with nature-themed words.\"},{\"question\":\"How should the word cards be used for children under the age of five?\",\"answer\":\"For children under five, it is recommended to use only the uppercase letter cards and encourage activities like coloring the cards or practicing writing individual letters.\"},{\"question\":\"What are the suggested activities for kindergarten-age children or older?\",\"answer\":\"Children in kindergarten or older are encouraged to use the word cards to create short sentences or even write a story that incorporates all the provided words.\"}]","Earth Day Word Cards - Preschool Language Activity | PDF",1790580249]
