The Drive to Succeed Program provides teens in low-income populations with driver’s education training in an effort to decrease t raffic fatalities in Ohio. According to the governor’s office, recent research has shown that new drivers under the age of 18 who complete the mandatory driver education under Ohio’s Graduated Driver Licensing restrictions, were less likely to crash than drivers licensed at age 18 who are exempt from these requirements.  \nTeens selected for the program can attend an eligible Ohio-approved driving school in their area for a minimal cost. If the student finishes the program, the only cost to the student is the required $50 registration fee owed to the driving school to reserve a spot in the driver’s education training course. If the student does not finish the program, the student or guardian is required to pay the Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio Five Hundred Dollars ($500) to cover the cost of the driver’s education training.
