Igor the hunchback and their host, Dracula, seem friendly but chills and laughter escalate as the monstrous guests arrive. It becomes clear that Zack the Zombie, Frankenstein, and mummified Egyptian Queen Nefertiti are not in costume but are real   and possibly dangerous. An out-of-season Ghost of Christmas Past even makes an appearance and takes Dracula on a journey of discovery. Will Dracula‟s affection for one of the girls keep her safe, or is she destined to be bitten and lead a vampire‟s life of darkness? This frighteningly funny play proves that love can touch even a vampire‟s heart and that monsters really know how to party.  \nCAST OF CHARACTERS  \n(6 m, 5 w)  \nDRACULA: A sophisticated vampire, charming but afflicted by his need to nibble.  \nIGOR: His faithful, friendly, hunchbacked assistant.  \nRAVEN POPINSKI: A sweet young woman who dresses inelegant Goth black.  \nLULU: Raven‟s bubbly, empty headed, ex cheerleader, best friend.  \nQUEEN NEFERTITI: A mummified Egyptian dressed in moldy royal rags.  \nFRANK: (Frankenstein.) A traditional monster of few words, he mostly grunts.  \nZACK ZOMBIE: Frank‟s best friend and business partner, one of the undead.  \nSPIRIT: (Ghost of Christmas Past.) He‟s out of season but ready for action.  \nMOMMY: (Of Dracula.) A vampire herself, she hopes to help her son escape the lifestyle. (Appears only in Act II.)  \nVLADDIE: Dracula as his younger self. (Appears only in Act II.)  \nKATERINA: Vladdie‟s first love. (Appears only in Act II.)  \nCasting note: It need not be a problem if Dracula is shorter than Vladdie. When the two finally meet and Vladdie looks him over, he can make a comment aside such as “It‟s true, people really do get shorter with age.”  \nSETTING  \nThe action takes place in Dracula‟s library, a large spooky room with one old-fashioned sofa at center right and a few small chairs and small tables scattered around. French doors upstage center lead to the garden. Stage left door leads to dining room and other areas of the castle. Entrance to library is stage right – it is an archway with door to actual castle being “offstage.” Characters leave the stage to use the door. Although it is modern day, Dracula‟s décor is gothic with candlesticks, skulls, cobwebs etc. Short opening sequence and short subsequent flashbacks occur in front of the act curtain – or on a thrust or at side of stage if necessary.  \nSongs for the short dance sequence can be chosen from those in the public domain and therefore are free.  \nACT I  \n(AT RISE: Scene opens with curtain closed and the action played in front of curtain. FX: Menacing rumbles of thunder are heard and an occasional crack of lightning brightens the space momentarily. Otherwise, an eerie light illuminates the front of the stage. RAVEN and LULU enter and creep forward, obviously frightened.)  \nRAVEN: I can‟t believe you didn‟t check to see if we had any gas before we started out!
