Dentin slices (1 mm, n=360) from 120 single-rooted teeth were grouped by sealer type (BioRoot Flow, TotalFill BC Sealer), activation method (CNI, PUI, XP-endo Finisher), and setting time (7 and 60 days), then tested using push-out bond strength measurements. Statistically significant differences appeared among groups; TotalFill BC Sealer with XP-endo Finisher after 60 days showed the highest bond strength, while CNI yielded the lowest values. A 60-day setting time increased bond strength for XP-endo Finisher in both sealers, whereas PUI and CNI showed no difference between 7 and 60 days.",{"@graph":69,"@context":122},[70,84,105],{"@type":71,"itemListElement":72},"BreadcrumbList",[73,77,79,82],{"item":74,"name":75,"@type":76,"position":8},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",{"item":78,"name":9,"@type":76,"position":14},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/",{"item":80,"name":35,"@type":76,"position":81},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/healthcare/",3,{"item":83,"name":65,"@type":76,"position":19},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/do-irrigation-activation-techniques-and-setting-time-affect-the-dentin-bond-strength-of-bioceramic-based-root-canal-sealers-study-abstract/156122/",{"url":83,"name":65,"@type":85,"image":86,"author":91,"headline":65,"publisher":94,"fileFormat":97,"inLanguage":63,"description":67,"dateModified":98,"datePublished":99,"encodingFormat":97,"isAccessibleForFree":100,"interactionStatistic":101},"DigitalDocument",{"url":87,"@type":88,"width":89,"height":90},"https://docshare.wps.com/thumbnails/do-irrigation-activation-techniques-and-setting-time-affect-the-dentin-bond-strength-of-bioceramic-based-root-canal-sealers-study-abstract/156122.png","ImageObject",300,407,{"name":92,"@type":93},"Ezra","Person",{"url":74,"name":95,"@type":96},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-10-04","2026-08-28",true,{"@type":102,"interactionType":103,"userInteractionCount":24},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":104},"ViewAction",{"@type":106,"mainEntity":107},"FAQPage",[108,114,118],{"name":109,"@type":110,"acceptedAnswer":111},"Which irrigation activation techniques were compared in the study?","Question",{"text":112,"@type":113},"The study compared conventional needle irrigation (CNI), passive ultrasonic irrigation (PUI), and XP-endo Finisher (XPF).","Answer",{"name":115,"@type":110,"acceptedAnswer":116},"How were setting times incorporated into the experimental design?",{"text":117,"@type":113},"Setting time was tested at 7 days and 60 days for both bioceramic sealers.",{"name":119,"@type":110,"acceptedAnswer":120},"What irrigation technique and setting time produced the highest dentin bond strength?",{"text":121,"@type":113},"The highest bond strength was observed for TotalFill BC Sealer activated with XPF after 60 days.","https://schema.org",{"og:url":83,"og:type":124,"og:title":65,"og:site_name":95,"og:description":67},"article",{"robots":126,"canonical":83},"index,follow",{"doc_id":128,"site_id":62},156122,1790180121,{"code":4,"msg":5,"data":131},{"doc_id":128,"user_id":132,"nickname":92,"user_avatar":133,"doc_module":4,"category_id":34,"category_name":35,"doc_title":65,"doc_description":67,"doc_content":134,"file_id":135,"file_url":136,"file_type":137,"file_size":138,"view_count":24,"is_deleted":4,"is_public":8,"is_downloadable":8,"audit_status":8,"page_count":52,"language":139,"language_code":63,"site_id":62,"html_lang":63,"table_of_contents":140,"faqs":141,"seo_title":142,"seo_description":67,"update_tm":143,"read_time":144},1099514068035,"https://ap-avatar.wpscdn.com/davatar_276721f389ce27ea32af1340a28f341c","International Journal of Adhesion & Adhesives 149 (2026) 104367 \nContents lists available at ScienceDirect \nInternational Journal of Adhesion and Adhesives \njournal [homepage:](homepage: www.elsevier.com/locate/ijadhadh)[ www.elsevier.com/locate/ijadhadh](homepage: www.elsevier.com/locate/ijadhadh) \n| Do irrigation activation techniques and setting time affect the dentin bond strength of bioceramic-based root canal sealers?\u003Cbr>Emine ¸Simek a,* , Selimcan Satar a , Sude Gül ¨Ozdemir a ,\u003Cbr>Fatma Selenay Uça Yıldızb , ¨Ozge Kurt c , Makbule Bilge Akbulutb \u003Cbr>a Mersin University, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Endodontics, Mersin, Turkey b Necmettin Erbakan University, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Endodontics, Konya, Turkey c Aksaray University, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Endodontics, Aksaray, Turkey | | |\n| --- | --- | --- |\n| A R T I C L E I N F O | | A B S T R A C T |\n| Keywords:\u003Cbr>Bioceramic root canal sealers Dentin bond strength Irrigation activation\u003Cbr>Push-out test | | Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of different irrigation activation techniques and setting times on the dentin bond strength of bioceramic-based root canal sealers.\u003Cbr>Materials and methods: A total of 360 dentin slices with a thickness of 1 mm were obtained from the coronal third of 120 single-rooted teeth. The dentin discs were classified according to the type of root canal sealer (BioRoot Flow and TotalFill BC Sealer), irrigation activation technique (conventional needle irrigation [CNI], passive ultrasonic irrigation [PUI], and XP-endo Finisher [XPF]), and setting time (7 days and 60 days), and were divided into 12 experimental groups (n = 30). A push-out bond strength test was performed on the dentin discs, and the data were statistically analyzed.\u003Cbr>Results: The results showed a statistically significant difference in bond strength among the groups. The highest bond strength value was obtained in the TotalFill BC Sealer group activated with XPF after 60 days. The lowest values were observed in the groups treated with CNI. For both sealers, the 60-day setting time significantly increased the bond strength in the groups where XPF activation was applied (p \u003C 0.05). However, no statistically significant difference was found between the 7-day and 60-day groups in the PUI and CNI activation protocols (p> 0.05).\u003Cbr>Significance: This study demonstrates that irrigation activation techniques and the setting time of materials can influence the dentin bond strength of bioceramic root canal sealers. |\n\n1. Introduction \nThe primary objective of endodontic treatment is the elimination of microorganisms from the root canal system, prevention of recontamination, and preservation of the tooth's function over the long term [1]. To achieve this goal, the root canal space must be three-dimensionally filled with an appropriate filling material following effective chemomechanical preparation. Adequate adhesion of the root canal filling material to the dentinal walls is of great importance for ensuring a proper seal and for the long-term success of the treatment [2]. \nIn recent years, bioceramic-based root canal sealers have gained prominence due to their high biocompatibility and biological activity [3]. Clinical studies have confirmed that, following proper root canal cleaning and shaping, root canal treatment performed with a \nbioceramic-based sealer and gutta-percha is a safe and predictable treatment method with high clinical success rates [4]. These sealers enhance adhesion by forming a chemical bond at the interface between dentin and the filling material, reduce microleakage, and demonstrate the potential to reinforce root canal walls [5]. Furthermore, it has been reported that bioceramic sealers promote hydroxyapatite formation atthe sealer–dentin interface, which may contribute to the mechanical strength of the root structure [6]. \nTotalFill BC Sealer (TF; FKG, La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland) and B","cbCaihYzRdSfThyp","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaihYzRdSfThyp","pdf",2443269,"English","# Objectives\n# Materials and methods\n# Results\n# Significance","[{\"question\":\"Which irrigation activation techniques were compared in the study?\",\"answer\":\"The study compared conventional needle irrigation (CNI), passive ultrasonic irrigation (PUI), and XP-endo Finisher (XPF).\"},{\"question\":\"How were setting times incorporated into the experimental design?\",\"answer\":\"Setting time was tested at 7 days and 60 days for both bioceramic sealers.\"},{\"question\":\"What irrigation technique and setting time produced the highest dentin bond strength?\",\"answer\":\"The highest bond strength was observed for TotalFill BC Sealer activated with XPF after 60 days.\"}]","Do irrigation activation techniques and setting time affect the dentin bond strength of bioceramic-based root canal sealers? - Study abstract | PDF",1787954074,25]
