\n Introduction \nThis English-Spanish Dictionary of Health Related Terms was developed as an instrument for health care personnel and other professionals working with the Latino population in the United States. The main purpose of the dictionary is to strengthen communication between Spanishspeaking populations and the health workers serving them, and facilitate dialogue by reducing cultural and linguistic barriers. \nBesides the proper terms in English and Spanish, this dictionary contains many popular expressions used in Mexico and Central America to describe names, signs and symptoms of illness. This fourth edition includes new terms on several health topics, including infectious diseases, chronic diseases, environmental health, and managed healthcare. \nThis publication is a joint effort of the Health Initiative of the Americas, a program of the School of Public Health at the University of California Berkeley, and the Office of Binational Border Health, of the California Department of Public Health. The compilation of materials, editing, and review of this edition and past editions of the dictionary could not have been accomplished without the collaboration of countless people working in the following organizations: \nCalifornia Department of Public Health \nCalifornia Department of Health Care Services \nCounty of San Diego, Health and Human Services Agency Illinois Department of Human Services \nImperial County, Public Health Department Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) Mexican Children’s Hospital \nMexican National Institute of Public Health Mexican Secretariat of Foreign Affairs Mexican Secretariat of Health \nMolina Healthcare \nScripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista/ AHEC-CalPEN \nU.S.-Mexico Science Fundation (FUMEC) University of California, Berkeley \nUniversity of California, Davis \nUS-Mexico Border Health Commission (USMBHC) \nPublication of this edition was made possible by the generous support of the California Office of Binational BorderHealth, the California Department of Public Health and Department of Health Care Services, Office of Multicultural Health, the Border Infectious Diseases Surveillance (BIDS) program, and Health Net of California. \nXochitl Castañeda, Director Health Initiative of the Americas UC Berkeley, School of Public Health \nMauricio Leiva, Chi","cbCaimu0rBHnQHT8","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaimu0rBHnQHT8","pdf",1921313,61,"English","# Introduction\n## Alphabetical terms (English-Spanish)\n## General instructions\n## Instructions on taking medications\n## Personal data\n## Medical history\n## Human anatomy","[{\"question\":\"What is the dictionary’s main purpose?\",\"answer\":\"To strengthen communication between Spanish-speaking populations and health workers by reducing cultural and linguistic barriers.\"},{\"question\":\"What kinds of terms are included beyond standard medical vocabulary?\",\"answer\":\"Popular expressions used in Mexico and Central America to describe illness names, signs, and symptoms, in addition to proper terms in English and Spanish.\"},{\"question\":\"What updates are included in the fourth edition?\",\"answer\":\"New terms covering infectious diseases, chronic diseases, environmental health, and managed healthcare.\"}]","Dictionary of Health Related Terms: English-Spanish - 4th Edition - Comprehensive alphabetical terms | PDF",1790582008,154]
