Some 5,000,000 children die from it annually. The most serious conditions that arise from diarrhea are dehydration and malnutrition. Dehydration means that the child does not have enough water left in his body. It happens when the body loses more liquid than it takes in. People of any age can become dehydrated. However, it develops more quickly and is most dangerous in small children. A dehydrated person has a dry mouth and tongue, sunken eyes, weight loss, absence of tears, etc. \nIf you give the child plenty to drink at home, you can prevent the diarrhea from becoming serious. Give the child liquids like rice water, guava leaf tea, the water that vegetables have been cooked in (carrots, huckleberry, greens), ORS packet, or even plain water. Avoid any food or drink which has grease or fat in it. If the child refuses to drink or vomits, stay patient and keep trying. S’il vomit, attendez quelques minutes puis recommencez lentement, par petites cuillerées.","cbCaijiUK6ggoQjZ","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaijiUK6ggoQjZ","pdf",1079349,1,22,"English","en",105,"# Diarrhea risks\n## Dehydration and malnutrition\n# Treating diarrhea at home\n## What to give\n## What to avoid\n## If the child refuses to drink or vomits","[{\"question\":\"Why is diarrhea dangerous for children?\",\"answer\":\"Diarrhea can lead to death if not treated early.
