The approach links gesture, position, and speech recognition sensing modules to light and sound actuation via a visual no-code programming layer, enabling quick configuration, visible mappings, and in-room testing. Developed, used, and refined across six workshops with eight professional performance-makers, it supports collaborative experimentation with compositional sensing and actuation materials rather than production-ready show control. The system connects bespoke sensing modules for gesture, position, and speech recognition to light and sound outputs through a visual no-code programming layer. It was developed, used, and refined across six workshops with eight professional performance-makers, where participants created light-and-sound scores, gesture-and position-triggered scenes, responsive architectures, participatory prototypes, anda multi-room scratch performance. Rather than presenting a production-ready show-control platform, this demo focuses on how sensing and actuation can be made available as compositional materials during early-stage creative experimentation for immersive theatrical compositions. The system is designed to support quick configuration, visible mappings, and in-room testing, allowing performers to experiment with responsive spaces with minimal technical support. We describe the system architecture, its workshop use, and the practical conditions that helped integrate interactive sensing into embodied performance-making. \nCCS CONCEPTS • Human-centered computing → Human computer interaction (HCI) → Interaction paradigms → Collaborative interaction • Applied computing → Arts and humanities → Performing arts \nAdditional Keywords and Phrases: Theatre, Live Performance, Devising, Interactive Built Environments, Responsive Environments, Performance-led HCI \nACM Reference Format: \nFirst Author’s Name, Initials, and Last Name, Second Author’s Name, Initials, and Last Name, and Third Author’s Name, Initials, and Last Name. 2018. INTRODUCTION \nFiction has long imagined spaces that behave: buildings that sense, anticipate, and sometimes retaliate [2], casting architecture as a responsive presence rather than a static container. This lens is newly useful for contemporary immersive performance, where experience is organised through a world that surrounds the spectator [10], across forms ranging from free exploration to guided trajectories [18] . In such experiences, an interactive built environment can become a dynamic compositional medium, understood less by what it is than by what it does [8] . Although sensing and actuation technologies are becoming increasingly accessible, less is known about how theatre-makers can work with them at rehearsal tempo: quickly configuring, testing, and revising responsive spaces through embodied exploration. \nThis creates a practical tension.
