The narrative follows a dinosaur named Desmond who receives an invitation from the Prime Minister of Great Britain to travel to New York City. As a Very Important Person, Desmond is tasked with representing Britain at a special festival and sharing information about the country with the American public. The book chronicles his journey, beginning with the receipt of the official letter and his departure by ship to New York. This work captures the wonder of exploration and cultural exchange, presenting the iconic skyline of New York through the unique perspective of a dinosaur protagonist. Originally published in 1981 by Rourke Publications, the story remains a delightful classic for young readers interested in adventure, travel, and whimsical dinosaur tales set in real-world
