The incapability of web-based systems to gain a better experience with wider consumers trigger the transformation. Designing a mobile learning application is a strategy to increase the usability of the existing e-learning system in a higher variety of services as well as more users. This study utilizes a design thinking approach to understand what user feels and need in their experience of using a mobile application. This approach consists of five stages and is divided into three processes: understanding, designing, and evaluating. This study illustrates a step-by-step design thinking implementation as well as the result of each stage. User testing assesses the usability of the mobile learning application. Finally, design thinking implementation reveals that more users feel comfortable with the apps because all features are needed and easy to understand. The design thinking approach has successfully helped UNI Course to create mobile learning applications that satisfy the users. \nKeywords: \nE-Learning, User Interface, User Experience, Design Thinking, Mobile Learning Application. \nARTICLE INFO \nArticle History: \nReceived 14 Jun 2022 Revised 19 Aug 2022 Accepted 30 Aug 2022 Available online 28 Sep 2022 \n1. INTRODUCTION \nToday, internet technology has opened many new progression avenues of educational service. The e-learning service is one of the technology platforms that migrate the process of learning, teaching, and management into a digital environment. Time-saver and costefficiency are the powerful merits of e-learning. Technology platforms of e-learning rapidly changing from computer-based, web-based, and mobile device forms (Zakharia, 2017) . Both universities and schools widely adopt computer-based and web-based e-learning platforms. However, both institutions are still lagging to catch up with the rapid progression in mobile devices which raises a new area called mobile learning technology (Tamhane et al., 2015) . In Indonesia, many educational start-ups serve consumers with an innovative way of offering e-learning on mobile learning technology. Several educational start-ups in Indonesia, including RuangGuru, HarukaEdu, KelasKita, Zenius, and many others, have developed their learning products into mobile devices (Rose Irawati et al., 2020) . \nUNI Couse, an e-learning product developed by CV Unindo Hestama Kreatif, is a mobile learning application that newly transform its system from web-based e-learning platforms. The incapability of web-based systems to gain a better experience with wider consumers trigger the transformation. Designing a mobile learning application is a strategy to increase the usability of the existing e-learning system in a higher variety of services as well as more users. In improving usability, three aspects must be achieved: effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction (ISO9241, 2018) . Those three aspects describe how useful and comfortable the system would be from the consumer’s perspective. User interface (UI) and user experience (UX) are pivotal parts for the target user to reach comfort as well as utility in using the application (Rose Irawati et al., 2020) . Hence, designing a user interface (UI) that meets the satisfaction of user experience (UX) is the solution for UNI Couse. \nDesigning a user interface (UI) is a crucial point in mobile learning applications. Improper UI implementation can affect several aspects such as interaction gaps between users and","cbCaigUIf1I5Y8Ac","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaigUIf1I5Y8Ac","pdf",831321,"English","# Abstract\n# Article Info\n# 1.
