Our products are recognised by customers around the world as leaders in their specific applications. \nWhere to use the DeltaTox ATP \nThe DeltaTox ATP test kit is designed for moderate bioburden water samples. Using a single analysis, you will be able to quickly estimate total microbiological concentration in applications such as: \n• Cooling Water \n• Process Waters \n• Treated Wastewater \n• Environmental Water \n…and more! In general, the ATP test kit will provide the basic means to estimate relative ATP concentration in most of these applications. \nHow does the ATP testing work? \nThe DeltaTox ATP kit is based on the measurement of ATP, which is a direct and interference-free indicator of total living biomass. ATP is measured using the firefly luciferase assay, where a sample containing ATP is introduced to a solution containing the enzyme Luciferase, which naturally occurs in the tails of fireflies, to produce light. The light is detected in a luminometer as Relative Light Units (RLU). \nATP + 02 + luciferin Mlugcif++erase AMP + PPi + oxyluciferin + light \nThe ATP test kit utilises a 1 -minute dilution-based analysis to measure a parameter called Total ATP (tATP™) . tATP represents ATP from both living and dead microorganisms in suspension in a fluid and therefore is an indication of the planktonic population. \nThe ATP test kit is also capable of measuring a component of the extra-cellular ATP originating from dead biomass called Free ATP (fATP) . This test estimates the quantity of freely-available, soluble ATP, which may increase following successful biocide applications. \nThe ATP test kit is optimised to measure down to 20 pg ATP/mL using standard procedures and equipment. \n2 \nDELTATOX ATP \nGetting started \nModern Water’s test kits contain all of the consumable materials required to run the specified number of tests. To use these test kits, Modern Water recommends: \n• The DeltaTox test system \nTest kit contents and storage \nWhen you receive your test kit, utilise the following guidelines for material storage. Avoid freezing of all product components except where noted, and avoid usage of expired test kit components. \nDELTATOX ATP TEST KIT CONTENTS & STORAGE CONDITIONS \n\n| Component Storage | | Shelf life |\n| --- | --- | --- |\n| 12 x 50mm cuvettes\u003Cbr>AZF686004-1000/case\u003Cbr>AZF686005-400/box | - | - |\n| ATP Reagent | 4-25ºC | 12 months |\n| ATP Diluent | 4-25ºC | 12 months |\n| ATP Standard | 4-25ºC | 12 months |\n| ATP Extractant | 4-25ºC | 12 months |\n\nNOTE: Store refrigerated for the best possible shelf life. Following rehydration, the ATP reagent will be stable for 3 months when refrigerated and 6 months when frozen. \n3 \nDELTATOX ATP \nGeneral tips \n• Microbiological characteristics of most samples will begin to change immediately upon collection. If samples cannot be tested within 2 hours of collection, store refrigerated (2 to 8oC) and test within 24 hours of collection. Allow samples to reach ambient temperature prior to testing, and performATP analyses on the same sample used for measuring other parameters for reliable interpretation. \n• Waste reagent can be discarded as general waste in most cases. Consult MSDS for more information. Contact Modern Water Inc for copies of MSDS. \n• Because ATP and bacteria are present on skin, do not touch the surface of pipet tips. \nEnsure that all pipet tips and test tubes are clean inside and outside prior to use. Do not mark on assay tubes as this may impact light detection by the luminometer. \n• Do not reuse pipet tips or cuvettes, they are single use only. \n• Avoid taking multiple luminometer readings on the same assay.
