Or don’t, if you don’t practice or recognize it. \nLater this month is President’s Day. Do most of you remember when it was two holidays instead of just the one? Let’s see, there the “Chat ‘NChew”, games night (the first Wednesday of the month – so that’s passed for February), trivia at Stewart’s, and tea at British Bell Tea Room. Oh! And the Leadership Development Workshop in March. The LDW will be being held at the New Castle Public Library. It will run from 10:00 until 4:00 . Lunch is on your own – but being less than two miles from Route 13, that shouldn’t be a challenge. Light refreshments will be provided. And by light refreshments, I mean water, soda, and some snacks. Mike Connolly, Executive Director of the New Castle Historical Society gave a talk on living in a historic district. \nThe audience consisted of both Mensans and local residents. He started his talk by informing the group that any exterior improvements, which have been preapproved by the board, are eligible for a 30% tax refund from the state – this got everyone’s attention. \nMike answered a multitude of questions from participants. He provided a color map to illustrate the national and local historic boundaries (the national boundary encompasses more area) . If a home owner wanted to anchor a window planter to their home, the change must be approved. He also told us that any work done on the BACK of the home (ie patio, garden shed, etc) is also subject to the rules set forth by the board. Any improvements done to the inside of the home are not subject to ","cbCaiv7ZJlPNUDXX","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiv7ZJlPNUDXX","pdf",349850,"English","# Editors Column\n# RVC Column\n# Calendar\n## Delaware Mensa Calendar","[{\"question\":\"What leadership and regional coordination needs are mentioned in the February 2012 issue?\",\"answer\":\"The editor notes ongoing interest in finding a “down state coordinator” and discusses plans to break up monotony with upcoming vacation days and events.\"},{\"question\":\"Where and when is the Leadership Development Workshop (LDW) scheduled?\",\"answer\":\"The LDW will be held at the New Castle Public Library from 10:00 to 4:00, with lunch on your own and light refreshments provided.\"},{\"question\":\"What is “Chat N Chew” and what topic was covered in the described January event?\",\"answer\":\"“Chat N Chew” is a community event series; the first event in the series included a talk on living in a historic district in New Castle, featuring discussions about eligible exterior improvements and related approvals.\"}]","DelaMensa - Volume 38 - Number 2 - February 2012 | PDF",1790729395]
