Failure to comply with instructions could result in personal injury and/or property damage! Retain instructions for future reference. \nDayton® Direct-Drive Blowers \nDescription \nDayton direct-drive blowers are specifically engineered for air-conditioning, heating and ventilating systems where the blower is mounted within a cabinet or plenum chamber. To minimize vibration, 4-point reinforced mounting brackets have been equipped with rubber isolators. Blowers can be mounted in four variable discharge positions. All motors are permanent split capacitor type (with appropriate capacitor attached) with automatic reset thermal protection. \nUnpacking \n1. Inspect unit for any damage that may have occurred during transit. \n2. Shipping damage claim must be filed with carrier. \n3. Insure that blower wheel spins freely before installation. \nMotor Component Recognition \nDimensions \nE47479 \nWheel Diameter \nModel x Width A B C D E F G H I \n1XJX7 \n1XJX8 \n1XJX9 \n1XJY1 \n1XJY2 \n1XJY3 \n1XJY4 \n97/16 x 73/16 \n97/16 x 97/16 \n97/16 x 97/16 \n11 x 713/16 \n11 x 109/16 \n13 x 9½ \n13 x 9½ \n129/16 15 15 169/16 169/16 199/32 \n199/32 \n61/8 77/32 77/32 77/8 77/8 87/8 \n91/16 \n3/4 \n19/16 19/16 19/32 19/32 15/8 \n15/8 \n12¾ \n159/32 159/32 175/16 175/16 205/16 \n205/16 \n713/16 10¼ 10¼ 113/8 113/8 133/8 \n133/8 \n71/8 89/16 89/16 95/8 95/8 119/16 \n119/16 \n9¾ \n125/16 125/16 11½ 141/16 135/16 \n135/16 \n91/8 1113/16 1113/16 10½ 131/16 123/16 \n123/16 \n619/32 \n6½ \n6½ \n6 6 \n811/16 \n85/16 \nA \nB \nG \nC \nD \nE \n I \nF \nFigure 1 – Dimensions H \nGeneral Safety Information Disconnect power source before installing or servicing. Failure to disconnect power source can result in fire, shock or serious injury. \n1. Blower should be installed and serviced by a qualified technician only. \n2. Follow all local electrical and safety codes, as well as the National Electrical Code (NEC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) in the United States. \n3. Motor must be securely and adequately grounded. This can be accomplished by wiring with agrounded, metal-clad raceway system by using a separate ground wire connected to the bare metal of the motor frame, or other suitable means. \n4. Always disconnect power source before working on or near a motor or its connected load. Lock it in the open position and tag to prevent unexpected application of power. \n5. In accordance with OSHA requirements, guarding is required if bloweris mounted less than 7 feet above floor or where workers have access. \n6. Be careful when touching the exterior of an operating motor; it may be hot enough to cause injury. With modern motors, this condition is normal as they are built to operate at higher temperatures. \nForm 5S5843 \nPrinted in China 09670 1007/240/VCPVP \nE \nN \nG \nL I \nS \nH \nE \nS \nP \nA \nÑ \nO \nL \nF \nR \nA \nN \nÇ \nA \nI \nS \nE \nN \nG \nL I \nS \nH \nDayton® Direct-Drive Blowers \nGeneral Safety Information (Continued) \nDo not touch motor. Do not kink power cable and never allow cable to come in contact with oil, grease, hot surfaces or chemicals. \n9. Make certain that the power source conformsto the requirements of your equipment. \nDo not use in a flammable or explosive atmosphere. Installation \n1. Attach the housing supports (ordered separately) to the housing in the desired discharge position. \nFor safety, a lockable disconnect switch should be located near blower so power can be positively disconnected while installing or servicing the fan.
