The analysis compares two groups based on their CYP3A5 genotype: CYP3A5 *3/*3 (N=22) and CYP3A5 *1/*3 (N=8). Key demographic and clinical characteristics were assessed, including age, BMI, race, presence of high blood pressure and post-transplant diabetes mellitus, residual diuresis, donor creatinine, and the incidence of glomerular sclerosis. Donor characteristics such as asynchronous and expanded criteria donors were also evaluated, along with the age difference between donor and recipient, HLA mismatch, and the use of polyclonal antibodies induction. The initial dose of tacrolimus (FK) and the timing of its introduction were recorded. Post-transplant complications, including infections, acute humoral rejection, urological complications, and the development of post-transplant diabetes mellitus, were compared between the two groups. Additionally, tacrolimus levels and doses over time were analyzed according to the CYP3A5 genotype. The results indicate significant differences in African-american race (p=0.019) and residual diuresis (p=0.024) between the groups. The initial dose of FK also differed significantly (p=0.018). Post-transplant diabetes mellitus showed a trend towards significance (p=0.065). The graphical representation of tacrolimus levels and doses over time demonstrates distinct pharmacokinetic profiles based on CYP3A5 genotype, with higher doses generally required in patients with the CYP3A5 *1/*3 genotype to achieve comparable therapeutic levels, highlighting the clinical relevance of pharmacogenetics in optimizing immunosuppression.",{"@graph":69,"@context":123},[70,84,106],{"@type":71,"itemListElement":72},"BreadcrumbList",[73,77,79,82],{"item":74,"name":75,"@type":76,"position":8},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",{"item":78,"name":9,"@type":76,"position":14},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/",{"item":80,"name":35,"@type":76,"position":81},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/healthcare/",3,{"item":83,"name":65,"@type":76,"position":19},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/cyp3a5-polymorphism-and-tacrolimus-pharmacokinetics-in-kidney-transplant-recipients/180897/",{"url":83,"name":65,"@type":85,"image":86,"author":91,"headline":65,"publisher":94,"fileFormat":97,"inLanguage":63,"description":67,"dateModified":98,"datePublished":99,"encodingFormat":97,"isAccessibleForFree":100,"interactionStatistic":101},"DigitalDocument",{"url":87,"@type":88,"width":89,"height":90},"https://docshare.wps.com/thumbnails/cyp3a5-polymorphism-and-tacrolimus-pharmacokinetics-in-kidney-transplant-recipients/180897.png","ImageObject",300,407,{"name":92,"@type":93},"Lute","Person",{"url":74,"name":95,"@type":96},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-10-22","2026-09-02",true,{"@type":102,"interactionType":103,"userInteractionCount":105},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":104},"ViewAction",13,{"@type":107,"mainEntity":108},"FAQPage",[109,115,119],{"name":110,"@type":111,"acceptedAnswer":112},"What are the two groups of kidney transplant recipients studied based on their CYP3A5 genotype?","Question",{"text":113,"@type":114},"The study divided recipients into two groups: those with the CYP3A5 *3/*3 genotype (N=22) and those with the CYP3A5 *1/*3 genotype (N=8).","Answer",{"name":116,"@type":111,"acceptedAnswer":117},"Which demographic or clinical characteristics showed statistically significant differences between the two CYP3A5 genotype groups?",{"text":118,"@type":114},"Significant differences were observed in the proportion of African-american race (p=0.019) and residual diuresis (p=0.024) between the CYP3A5 *3/*3 and *1/*3 groups.
