The preface describes a two-phase project beginning with a scoping phase in February 2017 and an authoring phase starting 1 November 2017. It details community consultations, expert input, and text-mining methods used to identify 19 Knowledge Areas, grouped into five top-level categories, with materials organized for education, training, and professional development adoption.","The Cyber Security Body of Knowledge \nVersion 1.0 31st October 2019 \n[https://www](https://www:cybok:org/)[:](https://www:cybok:org/)[cybok](https://www:cybok:org/)[:](https://www:cybok:org/)[org/](https://www:cybok:org/) \nEDITORS \nAwais Rashid University of Bristol Howard Chivers University of York George Danezis University College London Emil Lupu Imperial College London Andrew Martin University of Oxford \nPROJECT MANAGER \nYvonne Rigby University of Bristol \nPRODUCTION \nJoseph Hallett University of Bristol \nCOPYRIGHT \n© Crown Copyright, The National Cyber Security Centre 2019 . The journey for CyBOK began on the 1st of February 2017, when we started our Scoping Phase (Phase I) . This involved a range of community consultations, both within the UK and internationally, through a number of different activities designed to gain input from as wide an audience as possible. The activities included: \n• 11 community workshops with 106 attendees across the UK; \n• 44 responses through an online survey; \n• 13 position statements; \n• 10 in-depth interviews with key experts internationally across the socio-technical spectrum of cyber security; and \n• 28 responses to a paper-based exercise as part of a panel at the Advances in Security Education Workshop at the USENIX Security Symposium 2017 in Vancouver, Canada. \nThere was a balance of inputs from academia and practitioners across most of these consultations. \nWe complemented the consultations with analysis of a number of documents that typically list key topics relevant to cyber security. Example documents included: \n• Categorisations, such as the ACM Computing Classification System (CCS) taxonomy; \n• Certifications, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and the Institute of Information Security Professionals (IISP) Skills Framework; \n• Calls for papers such as IEEE Symposium on Security & Privacy and USENIX Symposium on Usable Privacy and Security; \n• Existing curricula, such as the ACM computer science curriculum and the work of the Joint Task Force on Cybersecurity Education; \n• Standards, such as BS ISO-IEC 27032 2021 and NIST IR 7298; and \n• Tables of contents of various textbooks. \nWe used a vari","cbCainMvIdevhHhh","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCainMvIdevhHhh","pdf",20251327,1,834,"English","en",105,"# Preface\n## Project timeline and consultation activities\n## Topic analysis and identification of Knowledge Areas\n## Authoring process for the Knowledge Areas","[{\"question\":\"What is CyBOK Version 1.0 and why was it created?\",\"answer\":\"CyBOK Version 1.0 defines a structured set of cybersecurity knowledge for education, training, and professional development.
