must select their electives from the list below. Each elective subject is for one semester, except for German which is undertaken for the entire year. Students may not undertake the same elective twice in any year. | | | | | | | |\n| o | Accounting | o | | | Disease and Immunology | o | Photography |\n| o | Art | o | | | Entertaining with Food | o | Physics |\n| o | Biology | o | | | German | o | Psychology |\n| o | Business Management | o | | | Health in our Hands | o | Shape Up, Skill Up |\n| o | Chemistry | o | | | Health & Physical Education | o | Sports Leadership |\n| o | Computer Studies | o | | | Media | o | Wars, Rights and Freedoms |\n| o | Crime & Punishment | o | | | Mullauna Masterclass | o | Visual Communication Design |\n| o | Drama | o | | | People and Places | | |\n| The range of Year 10 elective subjects offered will depend upon the number of students selecting each subject.\u003Cbr>It is strongly recommended that students proceed with their study of German through to VCE because of the increments this provides in a student’s Australian Tertiary Admission Ranking (ATAR) score. Students who include German and Higher Level Mathematics in their VCE studies are eligible to be awarded the VCE Baccalaureate. This is highly regarded by tertiary institutions when considering students for admission.\u003Cbr>ACCELERATED VCE SUBJECTS | | | | | | | |\n\nAdvanced students may be allowed to attempt one VCE Unit 1 & 2 in Year 10. This subject replaces two elective choices. Students wishing to undertake this option must complete an application to undertake a VCE Unit 1 & 2 study in Year 10. Semester 1 reports and academic data will be considered as part of the application process. In addition to introducing the assessment processes related to the VCE, this option also prepares students for undertaking a Unit 3 & 4 study in Year 11, thus enhancing their ATAR score in Year 12. \nAll Unit 1 & 2 VCE subjects are available to choose from, depending upon availability of places and timetable considerations. \nMULLAUNA COLLEGE SENIOR SCHOOL CURRICULUM HANDBOOK | 4 \nThere are three modes of","cbCaipU1gItO1LL6","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaipU1gItO1LL6","pdf",3639685,79,"English","# Year 10 Curriculum Overview\n## Assessment\n## Homework\n## Subject descriptions\n# VCE Curriculum Overview\n## The new structure of the VCE\n## VCE course requirements\n## VCE assessment\n## ATAR\n## Constructing your course\n## Reading list\n## Who to ask for help\n## VCE study descriptions\n# VCE VM course information\n## VCE course planning form\n# VET Information","[{\"question\":\"What does the Year 10 program include?\",\"answer\":\"The Year 10 program combines core subjects and elective subjects, with opportunities for accelerated placement in a VCE subject.\"},{\"question\":\"How are Year 10 students assessed?\",\"answer\":\"Year 10 includes assessment tasks with grades, assessment against Victorian Curriculum learning standards, and evaluation of work habits such as effort and class behaviour.\"},{\"question\":\"How much homework is expected in Year 10?\",\"answer\":\"Students are expected to complete a minimum of 8 to 10 hours of homework per week, using regular weekly times to complete and submit required work by the due date.\"}]","Curriculum Handbook Senior School 2024 | PDF",199]
