is a Pack Holiday.Like all worthwhile things it is agood deal more demanding than the ordinary weekly meetings, and equally more rewarding. \nThe advantages of a good Pack Holiday -and there should beno such thing as a bad one!-are tremendous. But before theCub Scout Leader becomes swamped with his own enthusiasm, much less that of his boys,he must face up to the work and theresponsibilities involved, and he should establish a clear pictureof his aims and objects and the priorities which must never belost to sight. \nThe emphasis should be on the word 'holiday’,which suggestsa complete change of scene and way of life, and a lot of funand enjoyment in good company and healthy surroundings.APack Holiday however is still Cub Scouting, indeed it may be avital part of the Pack programme, providing an opportunity forall the excitement, adventure and practical activities which CubScouts need.It will probably be the highlight of the year;anever-to-be-forgotten time. \nFor the Cub Scout Leader it provides a unique opportunity toget to know the individual boys better than ever before;to widentheir interests, advance their training and to make them moreself-reliant and dependable. \nAnother important object of a good Pack Holiday, whether basedon a permanent building or under canvas,is to give the boysan even keener appetite for Scouting and the greater adventureof a Scout Camp. \nThere is nothing new about these aims and objects:they arethe basis of Cubbing, common to all Cub Scout Leaders.Buthere is a method by which they may be implemented in anextensive and wholly delightful way. \n# Policy,Organisation and Rules\n\nThese are the Rules of The Scout Association which apply toPack Holidays.Keeping the rules is essential in order that yourPack Holiday may be covered by The Scout Association In-surance Policy. \nThe Rules concerning Pack Holidays are shown in Policy,Organisation and Rules Parts 1,2 and 3,Appendix VII -Activities,Rules and
