This brochure will share some information with you on what to expect. We hope to answer some commonly asked questions to help calm any fears you may have. Our goal is to always provide the very best care to you and your loved ones at Sarah Bush Lincoln. \nWhat To Expect \n1. CT exams are fast and accurate. Most scans can be completed in 30 minutes or less. CT scans can provide detailed images of your body. \n2. The CT scanner is a large machine that looks like a giant doughnut. You will lie flat on a table that will move in and out ofthe opening but nothing touches you. \n3. A technologist will be in a separate room during your exam, but can see and hear you at all times. You will be able to communicate with the technologist through an intercom. \n4. After the exam, the technologist will answer any questions you have and walk you back to the main lobby. \nFrequently Asked Questions \n1. Will this exam hurt? \nFor some exams the technologist will have to start an IV or take blood work. On scans involving contrast, a clear liquid will be injected through your IV to help visualize your body for specific types of diseases or disorders. This is not painful, but you may experience a warm sensation all over your body, which is normal. \n2. Will I be ok after this scan? \nYES, there are no restrictions placed on you after your procedure. You may resume eating, drinking and medications like normal unless instructed differently by your doctor. \n3. When will I receive my results? A radiologist (imaging physician) will interpret the hundreds of images that are taken during your exam. Please allow two to three days for your physician to receive and review your results. \nSarah Bush Lincoln technologists have taken the Image Gently and Image Wisely pledgesto ensure the safety of our patients remains our number one priority. We work diligently to keep the radiation dose as low as possible without compromising the image quality needed to make a correct diagnosis. \nThankyou for choosing Sarah Bush Lincoln.","cbCait2x8lzCAihM","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCait2x8lzCAihM","pdf",236530,"English","# Our Mission\n# Diagnostic Services\n## CT Scan\n## What to Expect\n## Frequently Asked Questions","[{\"question\":\"Will this exam hurt?\",\"answer\":\"Some CT scans may require an IV or blood work.
