But stay about 900 meters [a half mile] behind them.”  \nJoshua 3:3-4  \nIn the morning, Joshua said to the priests,“Carry the sacred chest and lead the people across the river.” The priests obeyed Joshua, and they stepped into the water at the river’s edge.  \nJoshua 3:6, 14-15  \nThe water upstream began backing up into a heap a long distance away. No water flowed downstream, and the riverbed became dry!  \nJoshua 3:16  \nSo the priests walked to the middle of the riverbed on dry ground and stood there with the sacred chest.
