In addition to standard ALS equipment utilized routinely by paramedics, the CCP may be required to manage special equipment and/or medications being used on a patient provided by the transferring hospital. The CCP may need to perform advanced procedures, as well as monitor and administer medications not routinely used by ALS Paramedics. When called for (should be considered when manual ventilations are being performed, non-standard ventilator settings are necessary, or more than 2 titratable drips are inuse) , additional critical care personnel such as a respiratory therapist, ICU nurse, physician, or another paramedic may accompany patient to assist in providing care. The CCP will be the team member in charge but will recognize and respect the expertise of the other care givers on board. The decision to transfer a patient rests with the transferring physician. This physician bears responsibility for the transfer decisions, and must: \n1) Determine whether the benefits of transfer outweigh the risks. \n2) Ensure that the patient is properly stabilized prior to departure. \n3) Be responsible for complying with currently accepted community standards of practice regarding interfacility transfer. \nFor the purposes of these guidelines, MRCC stands for Medical Resource Control Center, which refers to on-line medical control. This can be obtained by hailing East Metro MRCC on the 800mhz Minnesota ARMER radio system using talkgroup“MRCC-E”, by phone at (651)-254-2990 , or by contacting the hospital designated as medical control for either the transporting agency or for the specific patient encounter. \nAny medication given via intravenou","cbCaisgQTgWimyWL","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaisgQTgWimyWL","pdf",2222043,128,"English","# Introduction\n## Scope of Practice\n## Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Program Overview\n# Treatment Guidelines\n## Universal Critical Care Considerations\n## Anaphylaxis\n## Aortic Emergencies\n## Blood Product Transfusions\n## Cardiac Arrhythmias\n## Cardiac Emergencies\n## Cardiogenic Shock\n## CVA (Stroke)\n## Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)\n## Electrolyte Abnormalities\n## Gastrointestinal Bleeding\n## Head Trauma\n## Hypovolemic Shock\n## OB/Gyn Emergencies\n## Overdoses and Toxicologic Emergencies\n## Pain Management and Sedation\n## Respiratory Emergencies\n## Seizure Emergencies\n## Sepsis\n## Shock Undifferentiated\n## Spinal Cord Injuries\n## Device Management\n## Medications","[{\"question\":\"What responsibilities does the transferring physician have for interfacility transfer?\",\"answer\":\"The transferring physician must ensure transfer benefits outweigh risks, confirm the patient is properly stabilized before departure, and comply with currently accepted community standards for interfacility transfer.\"},{\"question\":\"What does MRCC mean in these guidelines, and how can it be accessed?\",\"answer\":\"MRCC stands for Medical Resource Control Center (online medical control).
