Detailed Description of the Invention\n\nThis invention pertains to a bulky and crimpled hollow yarn,and inparticular,it pertains to a bulky and hollow yarn with an irregularly shapedcross section suitable for carpet manufacturing.  \nRecently,various crimp processing processes have been studied anddeveloped in order to inprove bulkiness of synthetic yarns.Furthermore,various attempts have been nade to improve bulkiness,handle,luster,etc.,bychanging the shape of lateral cross section.  \nFor example,the bulkiness of a yarn having an irregularly shaped lateralcross section and multiple projections is excellent,and thus,it has beenattempted to increase the bulkiness by elongating these projections.  \nSpecifically,it was attenapted to obtain a yarn having a high degree of shapeirregularity which is represented by the ratio(D₂/D₁)of the diameter(D₂)ofthe lateral cross section circumscribed circle to that(D₁)of the lateralcross section inscribed circle shown in Figure 1.However,in the case ofyarn having a high degree of shape irregularity,it is difficult to improvethe bulkiness significantly since the lateral cross section is deformed duringthe drawing fabrication to obtain high bulkiness as shown in Figure 2(a)-(c)making the bulkiness to reach its saturation or rather reducing it.  \nThe authors of the current invention carried out various studies to solvethose problems,as a result,they found that a bulky yarn with good handlewhen it was made into a carpet could be obtained by setting the degree ofshape irregularity,void percentage and crimp percentage in specific ranges,and they arrived at the current invention.  \nSpecifically,this invention is,in the case of yarn consisting ofthermoplastic synthetic fiber with a hollow portion extending continuously inthe lengthwise direction and three straight projections extruded radially inthe lateral cross section,a crimpled hollow yarn vith odd-shaped crosssection characterized by having a void percentage in the range of 15-40%,degrce of shape irregularity in the range of 2.0-3.5 and critp percentage inthe range of 7-20 %.  \nThe thermoplastic synthetic fiber of this invention includes,forexample,polyester,polyesterether,polyamide,polyolefin,etc.  \nIn this invention,the thermoplastic synthetic fiber is required to havea hollow portion continuously extending in the lengthvise direction and at thesame tine,three projections radically extruding in the lateral crosssection.Figure 3(a)-(f)show exataples of the lateral cross sectionalshape of the fiber of this invention.In this case,the void percentage isrequired to be in the","cbCaik8STmyr22k9","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaik8STmyr22k9","pdf",649085,16,"English","# Specification\n## 1.
