Hypotheses were tested using perspectives from WR participants and third-party coworkers. Findings show coworkers’ perceptions and behaviors are more harmful than WR participants expect, especially for hierarchical WRs. Attributions about workplace romance job motives reduce coworker trust, which then predicts less honest and less accurate coworker communication.
