It utilizes the fraction two-fifths (2/5) as an example, defining the numerator and denominator. To convert a fraction to a decimal, the numerator is divided by the denominator, resulting in 0.4 for 2/5. To convert the decimal to a percentage, it is multiplied by 100, yielding 40%. The document outlines these as two simple steps and encourages viewers to practice with provided examples. It also directs individuals to contact them via email, website, or by visiting the library for further assistance and explanation. The core concept presented is the transformation of numerical representations from fractional form to decimal and then to percentage, emphasizing a clear, step-by-step methodology suitable for educational purposes.",{"@graph":69,"@context":123},[70,84,106],{"@type":71,"itemListElement":72},"BreadcrumbList",[73,77,79,82],{"item":74,"name":75,"@type":76,"position":8},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",{"item":78,"name":9,"@type":76,"position":14},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/",{"item":80,"name":20,"@type":76,"position":81},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/exam/",3,{"item":83,"name":65,"@type":76,"position":19},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/converting-fractions-to-decimals-and-percentages/269917/",{"url":83,"name":65,"@type":85,"image":86,"author":91,"headline":65,"publisher":94,"fileFormat":97,"inLanguage":63,"description":67,"dateModified":98,"datePublished":99,"encodingFormat":97,"isAccessibleForFree":100,"interactionStatistic":101},"DigitalDocument",{"url":87,"@type":88,"width":89,"height":90},"https://docshare.wps.com/thumbnails/converting-fractions-to-decimals-and-percentages/269917.png","ImageObject",300,407,{"name":92,"@type":93},"Ivy","Person",{"url":74,"name":95,"@type":96},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-10-30","2026-09-15",true,{"@type":102,"interactionType":103,"userInteractionCount":105},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":104},"ViewAction",17,{"@type":107,"mainEntity":108},"FAQPage",[109,115,119],{"name":110,"@type":111,"acceptedAnswer":112},"How do you convert a fraction to a decimal?","Question",{"text":113,"@type":114},"To convert a fraction to a decimal, divide the numerator by the denominator.","Answer",{"name":116,"@type":111,"acceptedAnswer":117},"How do you convert a decimal to a percentage?",{"text":118,"@type":114},"To convert a decimal to a percentage, multiply the decimal by 100.",{"name":120,"@type":111,"acceptedAnswer":121},"What is the percentage equivalent of the fraction 2/5?",{"text":122,"@type":114},"The fraction 2/5 is equivalent to the decimal 0.4, which converts to 40%.","https://schema.org",{"og:url":83,"og:type":125,"og:title":65,"og:site_name":95,"og:description":67},"article",{"robots":127,"canonical":83},"index,follow",{"doc_id":129,"site_id":62},269917,1789454249,{"code":4,"msg":5,"data":132},{"doc_id":129,"user_id":133,"nickname":92,"user_avatar":134,"doc_module":4,"category_id":19,"category_name":20,"doc_title":65,"doc_description":67,"doc_content":135,"file_id":136,"file_url":137,"file_type":138,"file_size":139,"view_count":105,"is_deleted":4,"is_public":8,"is_downloadable":8,"audit_status":8,"page_count":8,"language":140,"language_code":63,"site_id":62,"html_lang":63,"table_of_contents":141,"faqs":142,"seo_title":143,"seo_description":67,"update_tm":130,"read_time":81},549758252649,"https://ap-avatar.wpscdn.com/avatar/8000253669c5317157?_k=1778319167496531819","Converting Fractions to Decimals and Percentages \nVideo Transcript \nThis video will explain how to convert a fraction into a decimal, and then into a percentage. We have the fraction two fifths or two over five. Two is the numerator. Five is the denominator. To turn this fraction into a decimal, we’re going to divide the numerator by the denominator. \nWatch. Erase here. Move the denominator across. Move the numerator down. Add in a divide sign to create two divided by five. Numerator divided by denominator is zero point four. If we wanted the decimal we would stop here. \nA percentage is out of 100. So, to get the percentage from our answer, we multiply by 100. This gives us 40% . So 2/5 as a percentage is 40% . Two simple steps as shown on the screen. \nPause the video and have a try converting these fractions into decimals and percentages. Were you correct? \nFor further examples and explanation, please contact us by email, through our website or visit us in the library.","cbCaisHR4KVozZbl","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaisHR4KVozZbl","pdf",153607,"English","# Converting Fractions to Decimals and Percentages\n## Video Transcript","[{\"question\":\"How do you convert a fraction to a decimal?\",\"answer\":\"To convert a fraction to a decimal, divide the numerator by the denominator.\"},{\"question\":\"How do you convert a decimal to a percentage?\",\"answer\":\"To convert a decimal to a percentage, multiply the decimal by 100.\"},{\"question\":\"What is the percentage equivalent of the fraction 2/5?\",\"answer\":\"The fraction 2/5 is equivalent to the decimal 0.4, which converts to 40%.\"}]","Converting Fractions to Decimals and Percentages | PDF"]
