The range of the projects participated in the trial was quite varied, including building, civil engineering and electrical and mechanical services projects from the Works group of Departmentsand HA. The worked examples were written by the project staff involved in those projects, which design stage fell within 2003 and 2004. The booklet would serve as a record about what was done by them in the trial, and their considerations and views about the CDM . Certain descriptions of the facts in the examples may have been overtaken by events by the time of the publishing of this booklet. However, this time lag should not affect the reader's appreciation of how CDM was applied to the projects. The views expressed in the examples belong to their \nproject staff, and do not represent that of ETWB, HA or OSHC. \nThe organization fortheCDM trial in each department maybe different, and in some case the differentiation of roles: project supervisor, designer etc. may not be distinct. This should not cause confusion to the reader, as the reader should concentrate more on the spirit of consideration on the risks, and their documentation, rather than the roles of individuals. The layout of each example follows generally the same format, which includes information about the project, list of hazards identified, and views about the CDM expressed by the project team. Thereis however no dictation on the style of presentation, nor the scope of information to be supplied. This can relieve the reader from the monotony of reading through these examples. \nU C T I O N \nIt should be noted that the examples in this booklet attempt to give an idea on how CDM was conducted in various projects and produced benefits. The reader should NOT attempt to deduce procedures and methodologies about CDM from the examples. Furthermore, the reader should be aware that the quality of examples may vary, as we have put together as many examples as we can obtain from our trial to enable the r","cbCaioeJ7B13hsiS","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaioeJ7B13hsiS","pdf",2769713,211,"English","# Introduction\n# Worked Example No. 1 - Redevelopment of the Staff Quarters for the Establishment of a Rehabilitation Block at Tuen Mun Hospital-Phase 1\n## Project Information\n## Site Environment and Nature of the Works\n## Identification of Special Hazards\n## Documentation\n## Views\n## Appendix I - Pre-Tender Health and Safety Plan","[{\"question\":\"What is the purpose of this worked examples booklet?\",\"answer\":\"It records what was done during a 2003 trial launch of CDM in public works and public housing projects, including considerations, views, and how CDM was applied to the projects.\"},{\"question\":\"Should readers treat the examples as a fixed set of CDM procedures?\",\"answer\":\"No. The booklet states readers should not deduce CDM procedures and methodologies from the examples, because standard procedures and methodology do not simply exist for CDM across different organizations and project natures.\"},{\"question\":\"How does the booklet suggest readers evaluate CDM’s value?\",\"answer\":\"It encourages gaining insight into what had been done in the CDM process and trying the system in readers’ own projects, so the local construction industry can judge CDM’s true value, strengths, weaknesses, and possible improvements through firsthand experience.\"}]","Construction Design and Management - Worked Examples - Introduction | PDF",532]
