Ogeechee Technical College is a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia. \nWELCOME FROM OTC CTD FACULTY AND STAFF \nDear Future Student, \nWe are excited that you have chosen Ogeechee Technical College to help prepare for a bright future as a licensed commercial truck driver. Your admission to our Commercial Truck Driving (CTD) certificate program is based upon the completion of several admission requirements. \nPlease follow the steps below necessary for entry into the program: \n• The Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulates commercial driver licensing and requires a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug test in addition to a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report prior to the issuance of a Georgia Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) or Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) . Furthermore, random drug testing is required during the course of the Commercial Truck Driving program (FMCSA Regulations 382.305 and 391, subpart E) . \n• This program is offered at the Commercial Truck Driving Classroom/Range at the Evans Technical Education Complex (Hagan, Georgia) and Screven County Complex (Sylvania, GA) . Please see Page 7 for a map and directions. \n• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with a Class C License in order to apply for admission to the CTD program. Persons \n18 to 21 may obtain a Commercial Driver’s License but will be restricted to drive in Georgia only. \n• An applicant will NOT be admitted to the program until ALL of the admission requirements are fulfilled. Submitting only a portion of the required documentation DOES NOT reserve you a spot in the program. \n• The CTD program is offered during the day and evening. The day program takes seven and a half weeks to complete during Fall and Spring semesters, and ten weeks in the summer. The night program is 13 weeks during Fall and Spring semesters, and 10 weeks during Summer semester. Please contact Admissions to find out the exact schedule. \n• EZ DOT, LLC will visit the Hagan and Screven campus and perform the required Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug test during the first 3 days of the CTDL 1010 course. Students must be able to produce negative results on the drug screening and submit a satisfactory physical by the end of the CTDL 1010 course and prior to beginning the CTDL 1020 course if they wish to remain in the program. \n• Students can begin CTDL 1010 while drug screening results are pending. However, the results must come back by the time of the completion of CTDL 1010 for the student to remain in the program. \n• Student drivers who fail the drug screening are advised to contact the Bulloch Recovery Resources (912 .489.8401) located at 18 Simmons Center Statesboro, GA 30458. \nMore SAPs can be found at the following [link: ](link: www.naadac.org/sap-directory)[www.naadac.org/sap-directory](link: www.naadac.org/sap-directory) \nAn applicant/student driver who fails a drug and/or alcohol test may not be able to complete the CTD program at Ogeechee Technical College or any TCSG institution until documentation of successful completion of a return to duty program as prescribed by a Subst","cbCaigE9Dyh8h1r2","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaigE9Dyh8h1r2","pdf",1958811,"English","# Welcome from OTC CTD Faculty and Staff\n## Federal requirements for CDL licensure\n## Program locations, schedule, and age eligibility\n## Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug testing\n## Estimated costs\n## Admission requirements and application steps\n## OTC application fee and online enrollment\n## Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) rules\n## CDL learner’s permit documentation","[{\"question\":\"What federal requirements affect admission to the Commercial Truck Driving (CTD) program?\",\"answer\":\"FMCSA requirements include completing a DOT physical and drug test, along with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report, before issuance of a Georgia Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) or CDL.
