From above, the village looks like a patchwork fields of maize and beans stitched together with winding dirt paths, small houses with red-tiled roofs, and the laughter of children echoing through the valleys.  \nPasat is not a large place, but it is rich in something far more valuable than size. Community. Here, everyone knows everyone. Neighbors are more like family, and families are bound together by traditions of sharing, caring, and helping one another.  \nThe Village of Pasat  \nAt the heart of the village stands the local primary school, a simple building painted in bright colors. Its walls are decorated with drawings made by the children—sunflowers, birds, and smiling faces. The school is more than a place of learning. It is the heartbeat of Pasat. Every morning, children from Pasat and nearby hamlets walk along dusty paths, carrying notebooks tucked under their arms. Their voices rise in cheerful songs as they approach the schoolyard, where teachers greet  \nthem warmly.  \nThe school is where dreams begin. It is where children learn to read and write, but also where they learn about the world beyond the mountains. It is where friendships are formed, where games are played, and where the future of Pasat quietly takes shape.  \nThe Village of Pasat  \nLife in Pasat is simple, but it is full of beauty. The villagers rise with the sun, tend their crops, fetch water from streams, and gather in the evenings to share stories. The air smells of wood smoke and fresh tortillas, and the sound of roosters crowing marks the rhythm of each day.  \nYet, beneath the beauty lies a challenge that the villagers have not yet solved. The need for better hygiene. The communal toilets sit on the outskirts of the village, far from homes and the school. They serve their purpose, but they lack something essential. Handwashing stations.  \nFor now, villagers must walk back to their homes to wash their hands, a habit that sometimes gets forgotten in the rush of daily life.  \nThe Three Friends  \nIn Pasat, friendship is as natural as the flowing streams that cut through the hills. Among the closest of companions are Mrs. Fatuh, Mrs. Adama, and Mrs. Bundu. The three women are bound together not only by years of laughter and shared stories, but also by a common purpose of preparing and selling food to the children at Pasat Local Primary School.  \nEvery morning, the women can be seen walking toward the schoolyard, baskets balanced on their heads, filled with the aromas of freshly cooked meals. Their stalls are simple wooden tables shaded by palm leaves, but to the children, they are magical places where hunger is replaced with joy.  \nThe Three Friends  \nMrs. Fatuh is known for her creativity. Each week she invents anew delicacy—sometimes a twist on traditional rice and beans, other times a sweet treat made from plantains or cassava. The children love the surprise of discovering what she had prepared.  \nMrs. Adama, gentle and patient, is the one who always reminded the others to use fresh vegetables from their gardens.“Healthy food makes strong children,” she would say, her voice calm but firm.
