The objective is to practice fundamental arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Players use three dice to generate numbers, then manipulate those numbers using basic math skills to cover specific values on a Christmas tree game sheet. The game encourages critical thinking and mental math fluency as players must verify their calculations to successfully claim a spot on the tree. The activity is designed for one or more players, making it a versatile resource for both classroom settings and home learning environments during the holiday season. The instructions include clear rules for play, examples of successful calculations, and suggestions for group variations to enhance engagement and learning outcomes.",{"@graph":69,"@context":122},[70,84,105],{"@type":71,"itemListElement":72},"BreadcrumbList",[73,77,79,82],{"item":74,"name":75,"@type":76,"position":8},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",{"item":78,"name":9,"@type":76,"position":14},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/",{"item":80,"name":20,"@type":76,"position":81},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/exam/",3,{"item":83,"name":65,"@type":76,"position":19},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/christmas-tree-cover-up-math-game/633709/",{"url":83,"name":65,"@type":85,"image":86,"author":91,"headline":65,"publisher":94,"fileFormat":97,"inLanguage":63,"description":67,"dateModified":98,"datePublished":99,"encodingFormat":97,"isAccessibleForFree":100,"interactionStatistic":101},"DigitalDocument",{"url":87,"@type":88,"width":89,"height":90},"https://docshare.wps.com/thumbnails/christmas-tree-cover-up-math-game/633709.png","ImageObject",300,407,{"name":92,"@type":93},"Jake","Person",{"url":74,"name":95,"@type":96},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-11-02","2026-10-22",true,{"@type":102,"interactionType":103,"userInteractionCount":34},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":104},"ViewAction",{"@type":106,"mainEntity":107},"FAQPage",[108,114,118],{"name":109,"@type":110,"acceptedAnswer":111},"What is the goal of the Christmas Tree Cover-Up game?","Question",{"text":112,"@type":113},"The goal is to be the first player to successfully cover all the numbers on their Christmas tree game sheet by calculating values using the numbers rolled on three dice.","Answer",{"name":115,"@type":110,"acceptedAnswer":116},"What mathematical operations can players use?",{"text":117,"@type":113},"Players can use addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to manipulate the numbers rolled on the dice.",{"name":119,"@type":110,"acceptedAnswer":120},"How many players can participate in this game?",{"text":121,"@type":113},"The game is designed for one or more players; if playing with more, you simply need to print additional game sheets.","https://schema.org",{"og:url":83,"og:type":124,"og:title":65,"og:site_name":95,"og:description":67},"article",{"robots":126,"canonical":83},"index,follow",{"doc_id":128,"site_id":62},633709,1792775701,{"code":4,"msg":5,"data":131},{"doc_id":128,"user_id":132,"nickname":92,"user_avatar":133,"doc_module":4,"category_id":19,"category_name":20,"doc_title":65,"doc_description":67,"doc_content":134,"file_id":135,"file_url":136,"file_type":137,"file_size":138,"view_count":34,"is_deleted":4,"is_public":8,"is_downloadable":8,"audit_status":8,"page_count":81,"language":139,"language_code":63,"site_id":62,"html_lang":63,"table_of_contents":140,"faqs":141,"seo_title":142,"seo_description":67,"update_tm":143,"read_time":39},962084928904,"https://ap-avatar.wpscdn.com/davatar_155a257f0dc6eb9ab79c44ca47cae57d","Name \nDate \n \nAge Range: 4th Grade + \nNumber of players: 1+ \nLearning: add, subtract, multiply and divide with numbers up to 6 You will need: \n- 3 Dice \n- Some Counters (one color per player) Instructions: \n- Each player has their own Christmas tree to complete. \n- Take turns to throw the dice. \n- Use the numbers on the dice and your +, -, x and ÷ skills to make the numbers on one of the uncovered part of the tree. Example, if you roll a 1, 3 and a 4, you could make 2 (4+1-3), a 13 (3x4+1), a 15 (3x(4+1)), etc. \n- Cover the Christmas tree decoration number with one of your counters. \n- Tell your partner the calculation you used so that they can check it works! \n- If you can’t make a number on one of the uncovered tree decoration numbers, or your calculations is wrong, you give the dice to the next player. \n- The game finishes when one player finishes covering up their Christmas tree. \nExample of Play \n- Player 1 rolls a 4, 2, and 5 and makes 18 using 5x4-2. This is correct so he places a counter over number 18. \n- Player 2 rolls a 2, 6 and 1 and makes 13 using 2x6+1 . This is correct so he places a counter over number 13. \nVariations: \n- Play the game with more players by printing off more game sheets. \nName Date \nWho will be first to complete their tree? \nV 2 \nRemember-you can add, subtract, multiply or divide your numbers on the dice! \nName Date \nWho will be first to complete their tree? \n0 \n12 \n1 \n7 \n18 \n4 \nV 2 \nRemember-you can add, subtract, multiply or divide your numbers on the dice!","cbCaillqNVJDXGUk","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaillqNVJDXGUk","pdf",202302,"English","# Game Overview\n## Requirements\n## Instructions\n# Gameplay Example\n## Variations","[{\"question\":\"What is the goal of the Christmas Tree Cover-Up game?\",\"answer\":\"The goal is to be the first player to successfully cover all the numbers on their Christmas tree game sheet by calculating values using the numbers rolled on three dice.\"},{\"question\":\"What mathematical operations can players use?\",\"answer\":\"Players can use addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to manipulate the numbers rolled on the dice.\"},{\"question\":\"How many players can participate in this game?\",\"answer\":\"The game is designed for one or more players; if playing with more, you simply need to print additional game sheets.\"}]","Christmas Tree Cover-Up - Math Game | PDF",1792672580]
