You can choose to have your candidates’ performance reported using either an A*–G grade set or a 9–1 grade set. This guide will help you make accurate exam entries so that your \ncandidates receive results using the grade set they expect. \nYou must enter candidates for the correct Cambridge IGCSE syllabus code. Each syllabus code uses a specific grade set. Once you have made an entry for either grade set (A*–G or 9–1), you will not be able to move to the other grade set after the entries deadline. \nBelow is a list of Cambridge IGCSE subjects where we offer either an A*–G grade set or a 9–1 grade set to report your candidates’ results. Make sure the entry you make is for the correct syllabus code. \nPlease check the series availability for the syllabus code you want to make entries for in the syllabus document or the Cambridge Guide to Making Entries. \n\n| Cambridge IGCSE subject | A*–G graded syllabus code | 9–1 graded syllabus code |\n| --- | --- | --- |\n| Biology | 0610 | 0970 |\n| Chemistry | 0620 | 0971 |\n| Physics | 0625 | 0972 |\n| Mathematics | 0580 | 0980 |\n| First Language English | 0500 | 0990 |\n| English as a Second Language (Speaking endorsement) | 0510 | 0993 |\n| English as a Second Language (Count–in speaking) | 0511 | 0991 |\n| Literature in English | 0475 | 0992 |\n| Geography | 0460 | 0976 |\n| History | 0470 | 0977 |\n| Business Studies | 0450 | 0986 |\n| French | 0520 | 7156 |\n| German | 0525 | 7159 |\n| Spanish | 0530 | 7160 |\n| Italian | 0535 | 7164 |\n| Computer Science | 0478 | 0984 |\n| Co–ordinated Sciences | 0654 | 0973 |\n| Physical Education | 0413 | 0995 |\n| Music | 0410 | 0978 |\n| Design and Technology | 0445 | 0979 |\n| Drama | 0411 | 0994 |\n| Art and Design | 0400 | 0989 |\n| Information and Communications Technology | 0417 | 0983 |\n\nThere are two Cambridge IGCSEs in English as a Second Language \nWe offer two Cambridge IGCSEs in English as a Second Language, 0510 and 0511: \n• 0511 has a speaking component which contributes to the candidate’s final syllabus grade. \n• 0510 has a speaking component that does not contribute towards the candidate’s final syllabus grade; the result for speaking is reported separately. \nBoth 0511 and 0510 have 9–1 graded equivalent syllabuses: \n• 0991 is the 0511 equivalent syllabus (with speaking contributing to the candidate’s final syllabus grade) . \n• 0993 is the 0510 equivalent syllabus (with the result for speaking reported separately) . \nWhen making entries, make sure the syllabus code you select will give your candidates their results in the format you expect. \nTake extra care when using A*–G and 9–1 syllabuses in the same subject \nIf you make entries for some candidates for A*–G and for other candidates for 9–1 graded Cambridge IGCSEs in the same subject, please take extra care when administering the exam. \nCandidates will sit the exam at the same time, so you must make sure each candidate is sitting the exam paper that corresponds to the grade set intended for them. Double-check the syllabus code on the exam papers before distributing them to the candidates. \nWe will not be able to rectify any errors after the exam has taken place. We are not able to move a candidate or group of candidates between grade sets if you have entered them for, or they have sat, the incorrect paper. \nIf you need to change incorrect entries \nIf you make an entry for the syllabus on the 9–1 grading scale, it is not possible to switch to the syllabus on the A*–G grading scale once the entries deadline has passed. Similarly, you cannot move from an entry for the syllabus on the A*–G grading scale to an entry for the syllabus on the 9–1 grading scale after the entries deadline. If you make an entry for the wrong syllabus , you must withdraw and re-enter before the entries deadline. \nIf","cbCaibAOHsJYg8UR","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaibAOHsJYg8UR","pdf",198234,"English","# Choosing grade sets\n## Grade set selection and irreversible entries deadline\n## Cambridge IGCSE subject syllabus code mapping (A*–G vs 9–1)\n## English as a Second Language: 0510 vs 0511 and equivalents\n## Using A*–G and 9–1 within the same subject\n## Correcting incorrect entries and amendments timeline","[{\"question\":\"What should schools do if they enter the wrong syllabus code?\",\"answer\":\"If the wrong syllabus is used, schools must withdraw and re-enter before the entries deadline.
