Parents might sometimes treat their children in a harsh manner making the home unfavourable for them. This makes them find an alternative place to call home. This makes it easy for them to be exploited. Also, if one or both parents die and other family memebers or relatives show no concern for the children left behind, then they are forced to look for jobs so as to earn a living.n  \nLack of money in the family also makes children look for employment. if the family is poor, then there will not be enough money to send the children to school and at the same time meet their other needs.  \nSometimes, parents encourage their children to do odd jobs so that their responsibility of taking care of them may become less.  \nMisunderstandings and family break-ups areb also other causes of child labour. Children feel rejected and lack basic needs. Thus, they turn to child labour so as to cater for their needs.  \nCompetition among different families at times also leads to child labour. This happens when a child from a poor family feels disadvantaged compared to those from a rich family. Such children will sneak out of the home to go and find a place where they can get money for luxuries.  \nTo solve this problem, the government has played a crucial role. First, it has made and implemented laws which will protect children. Anybody found employing children will face a heavy punishment.
