Objects with their profiles and finish materials \n2. Relationships between and among other objects, such as doors, drawers, surfaces and cabinets, and \n3. Vertical and horizontal dimensions that can not be found in plan view. \nPage 227 \n© COPYRIGHT 2023 National Kitchen & Bath Association \nFigure 12.1 A fully-enhanced kitchen interior elevation drawing sheet. \n# DRAWING AND PRESENTATION STANDARDS\n\nInterior elevations are typically drawn to clearly indicate surfaces, edges, andthe intersections of materials andforms. The elevation is drawn to scale with the limits of the ceiling, floor, adjacent walls or other interiorassembly obstacles with a borderline. The method for drafting kitchen and bath interior elevations is to draft allthe elements and this includes cabinets, beams, bulkheads/soffits, etc. that project toward the viewer. \nNKBA’s drawing and presentation standards require the correct line type hierarchy and scale used, ceilingheights, dimensioning, numerical units, lettering, scale, elevation title markers, and even the use of title blocksand keynotes or leader lines on standard drawing sheet sizes. \nAs mentioned previously, all interior elevations within the drawing sheet sets should be prepared in black andwhite line drawings only. Although some CADD software applications will allow the kitchen and bath designerto illustrate elevations in a color rendition, these types of visualizations shall be used in a design presentationrather than within the plotted construction drawing package. \nFigure 12.2 A typical kitchen elevation illustrated to minimum requirements. \n## Drawing Sequence of Interior Elevations\n\nThe drawing sheet sequence for interior elevations is actually an important detail that the kitchen and bathdesigner should follow because it follows the drafting standards used by both architects and interior designers. \nPage 228 \n© COPYRIGHT 2023 National Kitchen & Bath Association \nThe first elevation view should be the north wall, or closest to the north wall, with the elevation marker on thefloor plan being the first in the sequence. This method follows the compass directions of the project site, and,as previously discussed, the north wall is the top wall on the drawing sheet, making using the set of drawingseasier for all parties involved. \nElevations move clockwise around the room first, then clockwise in the same manner into adjoining spacessuch as showers, pantries, or closets that are included in the set of drawings. \nPage 229 \n© COPYRIGHT 2023 National Kitchen & Bath Association \nFigure 12.3 For interior elevations, the title of the wall is based upon the location the viewer is facing. This isopposite to exterior elevations, where the title of the wall is based upon the direction the structure faces. \n## GRAPHIC PRESENTATION STANDARDS\n\nGraphic Symbols and Elements \nThe minimum graphic symbols and elements to include are: \n Elevation title marker and room name \n Interior walls as a borderline \n Doors, windows and other openings \n Room moulding and millwork with their profiled return \n Cabinetry, door styles, cabinetry crown moulding and light rails, and decorative hardware \n Horizontal w","cbCaiounfIkgOOxE","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiounfIkgOOxE","pdf",3517567,25,"English","# Drawing and Presentation Standards\n## Drawing Sequence of Interior Elevations\n## Graphic Presentation Standards\n## Referencing and Naming Interior Elevations\n## Drawing Scale\n## Dimensioning","[{\"question\":\"What is an interior elevation in kitchen and bath drawing?\",\"answer\":\"An interior elevation is a multi-view orthographic drawing that is two-dimensional and shows vertical surfaces from a perspective perpendicular to the viewer’s picture plane.
