Directors recognized the shared challenges and cross-border dynamics among the four CPFs that informed a joint Board discussion, while emphasizing the need for differentiated approaches tailored to each country ’s context to maximize impact.  \nDirectors welcomed the shared approach across the CPFs to help Central Sahel countries build a stronger base for private sector-led growth and job creation, aligned with the WBG 3-by-5 jobs framework and continued support for human capital development. They emphasized that macroeconomic stability and effective governance remain essential across all four CPFs, calling for conflict sensitivity during operations programing.  \nDirectors welcomed the focus on the streamlined CPF outcomes, drawn from each country’s national development plan. They also supported the One WBG approach to expand private sector participation—especially in youth skills, energy, agribusiness, and access to finance—with attention to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and alignment with key WBG initiatives such as Mission 300 and AgriConnect. They further emphasized the need for greater focus on climate and resilience, social protection, institutions building, job creation for women and gender equality.  \nDirectors noted the CPFs’ Fragility, Conflict and Violence (FCV) focus, and the need for more clarity and consistency on the IF-and-THEN approach to adjust the size and type of support based on reform commitment, absorption capacity, adaptability and progress on results.
