CELBAN uses MCQs as a question format for Listening (video or audio) and Reading. Listening scenarios are played only once. \nGeneral MCQ strategies for Listening and Reading \n• Read and follow all instructions carefully. \n• Pre–read questions before Listening and Reading. \n• Manage your time well. The invigilator will post time throughout the test. \nStrategies for the Listening test \n• Read the questions and select your answers as you view the video. \n• Answer the questions in the test booklet as soon as you hear the information you need. \n• Practice viewing/listening, reading, and answering MCQs before your test day to find out what strategies work best for you. \n• Review your answers. You will be given a short time in between each section to review your answers. \nStrategies for answering MCQs \n• Eliminate options that are clearly wrong. \n• Guess, if you don’t know. You are not penalized for wrong answers. \n• Cover the options. Read the question and try to answer the question on your own. \n• Uncover the options. Which option most closely matches your answer? \n• Read the MCQ stem with each option. \n• Ask yourself if this is true or false. Decide which option is most true. \n• Look for options that grammatically fit with the phrase. \n• Compare two options that seem correct. Look for differences. Then refer to the stem to find your best answer. \n• Use clues from other questions to answer questions you find challenging. \n• Change your first answers only if you are sure. \nCELBAN is the property of: CELBAN is administered by: The CELBAN Centre operates within:","cbCaiizv6VEtszPA","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiizv6VEtszPA","pdf",284684,"English","# General MCQ Strategies for Listening and Reading\n## Strategies for the Listening test\n## Strategies for answering MCQs","[{\"question\":\"What should you do if you encounter a challenging MCQ?\",\"answer\":\"Try using clues from other questions within the test to help deduce the correct answer for the one you find difficult.\"},{\"question\":\"Are there penalties for guessing on the CELBAN test?\",\"answer\":\"No, you are not penalized for wrong answers, so it is recommended that you guess if you do not know the correct answer.\"},{\"question\":\"What is a recommended method for verifying an answer among the given options?\",\"answer\":\"Cover the provided options, attempt to answer the question on your own, then uncover the options to select the one that most closely matches your own answer.\"}]","CELBAN Tip Sheet - Strategies for Answering Multiple Choice Questions | PDF"]
