Chair Dr. Mitch Taillon called the meeting to order at 12:30pm.\u003Cbr>Dr. Brent Dergousoff, President, welcomed those in attendance and thanked them for their interest in the College, including Dr. Randall Croutze, CDA Vice-President\u003Cbr>1. Introduction of New Members\u003Cbr>A list of the new members who had registered since the last Annual Meeting and those members in attendance were recognized.\u003Cbr>2. President’s Report\u003Cbr>Dr. Brent Dergousoff welcomed all members and encouraged their participation in the discussion. He also thanked the members for attending the Annual Conference and extended a thank you to past Council and the College office.\u003Cbr>3. Reports of the Standing and Special Committees\u003Cbr>Registrar’s Report: Dr. Bernie White extended a thank you to the past Presidents and current President. He summarized the acts, bylaws, policies, protection of public in oral health care, national affiliations and Government affiliations.\u003Cbr>Executive Director/Treasurer Report: Mr. Jerod Orb provided a monthly summary of College activities , recalled Dr. Dergousoff’s first year as president of the CDSS. Discussed economics of dentistry, mentorship program, presented Finance Committee report on behalf of Dr. Hohn, as he was away attending a national meeting. Reviewed the philosophy of avoiding profit and certainly not budgeting for profits. Mr. Orb also presented the Government Relations/Specialists report on behalf of Dr. Hohn. Explained that the Medical Services Branch contract is expired and has been for 3 years. Also mentioned meeting with Advanced Education Minister Rob Norris and other officials in the ministry of health throughout the year.\u003Cbr>Mediation Committee: Dr. Lalli thanked the regional committee members that donated countless hours to the mediation committee. Explained that mediation case numbers had gone down, due to the Professional Conduct committee being more involved in this area.\u003Cbr>Continuing Education Committee: Dr. Lalli gave a synopsis of his committee, noting that he had much to learn and that Dr. Hilary Stevens had been a great help in the transition of the committee duties.\u003Cbr>Office Management Committee: Dr. Lalli explained that the College office was running smoothly and that the executive director should consider submitting a request to council for new furniture requisition. He also mentioned that other office staff had taken on additional duties due to the departure of Jane Ritz from the administrative assistant role.\u003Cbr>Professional Conduct Committee: Dr. Dergousoff noted that several investigations were performed over the past year. Also explained that the process of the committee is fine-tuned and committee members are doing an exceptional job.
