Issues Combined\n\nSuddenly it will be May.At least that's how it will seem withthe next issue of CATHOLIC RURAL LIFE.You may already havenoticed March-April on the cover of this issue.Let me explain. \nThis year for the first time CATHOLIC RURAL LIFE is shiftingfrom 10 times a year publication to 12.The July and August issues willbe a \"bonus\"to readers, never before received. \nAt the same time many of you have told us that you're pleasantlyaware of the enlarged size and improved contents of your magazine. This \"new look\"has been hailed as the most important recent changein American Catholic journalism.(Right here, may I express for youour thanks to the members of the staff and others who have madethis possible.Dana,Mary and Judy have done a terrific job.) \nEven more,it has become dramatically obvious that the idea offeaturing a diocese in each issue has been successful. In each diocesefeatured—Madison,St.Cloud,Fargo,New Ulm,Sioux Falls(Diocesesnow on the schedule include Joliet,Saginaw,LaCrosse,Omaha,GreenBay and Ft.Wayne.)the special issue has made the Conference betterknown, and at the same time, made the diocese better understoodthroughout the country. Each issue has given new impetus to member-ships and activities of the Conference. In addition, the advertising rev-enue has reduced the Conference's cost in producing the magazine,mak-ing it possible for us to do a significantly better job. \nReaders in the past sponsoring dioceses know that additional distri-bution of the special issue has added thousands to the readers list.Thetiny new diocese of New Ulm,for instance, put 4,000 extra copies in thehands of rural families—one fourth of all Catholic families in the dio-cese(We are sure this record will soon be surpassed). The widelyscattered, thinly populated diocese of Cheyenne is ordering over 2000extra copies of this issue.Besides spreading the knowledge of the Con-ference far more widely in the featured diocese, this special high-qualitydistribution offers incentive to advertisers to reach their potentialmarket through these pages. \nGathering all these","cbCaiaEVAh2rwA1j","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiaEVAh2rwA1j","pdf",3541134,32,"English","#
