\nObjection:Suggestiveness in costuming, dialogue andsituations adds an unnecessary sensational dimensionto this satirical comedy. \n*VIVA MARIA—UA \nObjection:On the surface this film may appear to bemerely an exercise in ribald comedy which needlesslymakes light of promiscuity and occasionally lapsesinto suggestiveness. \nCloser examination, however, makes one wonder aboutthe purpose of an obviously recurring element ofreligious ridicule. Is this ridicule of the Latin AmericanChurch intended to be a subtle attempt at an anti-Catholic theme?Ridicule, though an effective pro-paganda device,is not the instrument of unbiased, fair appraisal. \nMoreover,particularly offensive to Christians is whatappears to be the use of a Christ-figure in a realisti-cally erotic sequence. \nThe to make a film that has genuine appeal for allthe diverse tastes and age groups that make up a generaaudience.Walt Disney is one of the few film-makerswho has consistently concentrated upon the productionof such films and has deservedly established a reputationbased upon their quality. His latest work may not beone of his outstanding efforts but it is nicely designedto give every kind of viewer a pleasant two-hours worthof comedy and diversion. \nThe story of this live-action,color film begins withthe kidnapping of a lady bank-teller(Grayson Hall)bytwo menacing gunmen(Neville Brand and Frank Gor-shin).The captive is able to slip her wrist watch witha partially scrawled message around the neck of a catwhose mistress happens to be a highly imaginative teen-ager(Hayley Mills). With this uncertain clue she is ableto persuade the FBI that by following her cat they canfind the criminals'hideout. The agent assigned to thecase(Dean Jones)has a zealous dedication to accom-plishing his mission regardless of his allergy to cats. \nAll manner of comic complications arise because theinvestigation must be kept secret.Dorothy Provine isthe older sister whose romance with a pompous neighbor(Roddy McDowall)is placed in jeopardy as a result ofcontinuous misunderstandings.Tom Lowell providessome good slapstick humor as Hayley Mills'suspiciousboy friend.Snoopy Elsa Lanchester and hard-of-hearingWilliam Demarest are an outrageous pair of battlingspouses.Above all,the Darn Cat(affectionately called \nD.C.)has to be kept from sensing that anything is outof the ordinary.Given the normal cantankerous natureof D.C.,the results are not hard to guess. \nThis adventure","cbCailarrSwRgTZX","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCailarrSwRgTZX","pdf",296744,"English","# RECENT CLASSIFICATIONS\n##
