recently translatedinto an open declaration of protest in theform of an article written by Reed Irvine,chairman of\"Accuracy in Media.\"  \n\"Accuracy in Media\"is a semi-profes-sional organization founded in 1969 to pro-vide a watchdog over the news media bypromoting accuracy,fairness,balance andclarity in reporting on critical issues facingAmerica.It is entirely supported by public  \n“Accuracy in Media”encourages thefiling of complaints from the public,andwhen complaints are judged to be legitimate,it launches an investigation.  \nWhen the investigation produces posi-tive evidence,the organization calls thematter to the attention of the newspaper ornewspapers concerned to make the neces-sary corrections.  \nIn this instance,when the Chairman ofthe \"Accuracy in Media\"spoke out stronglyagainst the Chinese Communist system of\"pin yin\"spelling,he was not criticizing anybias or unreliability of news presentationbut specifically the inconvenience and con-fusion caused by the“pin yin”spelling ofChinese names.  \nRecalling that the New York Timeswas the first to announce the adoption ofthe“pin yin”system,Irvine criticized as  \nunprecedented
