It's not uncommon to find multiple conflicting houses of worship on one town. However, the existence of a god of any alignment is welcomed if the people have something materialistic to gain from worshipping them. \nThe goal for most of the folk within Calimshan is to earn enough to live with endless luxuries then retire forever, so greed and scams are not uncommon. Adventurers are looked down upon much like peasants, as adventurers tend to spend lavishly and retire late to a humble life. Even slaves look at them with confusion as to why they have chosen such a ridiculous life. Those whom live from charity are also heavily discriminated against and therefore are not endorsed by the people of Calimshan. \nDO NOT spend time on things that do not pay well, do not beg or plead for money, the wonders of life a best found in retirement with a pool of Platinum enough to swim in. \n• Food • Slaves • Wizards • Water \nCalimshan Is lacking in few things due to high trade throughout the land. The sea line grows grass, bushes and trees, it is the only land in Calimshan that is useful for farming. However, very few people farm as the populace is after fast money. So food is commonly imported and sold at high prices, along with slaves that work laborious jobs that do not make much money. \nIn times of need talented Wizards are also sought to solve problems or conflicts within cities. \nCalimshan often has water created for them using magic, and therefore water magic or water barrels are often a subject of trade. However, the market is littered with water mages and therefore creating a barrel of water is worth less than 1gp. \n• Armor and Leather • Books • Gems and Jewelry and Adornments. • Mercenaries • Minor Magic Items • Pottery • Desert Herbs • Rope • Ships • Silk • Spices • Weapons • Wine \n1 \nPART 1 | FANCINESS \nCalimshan is governed by a pasha, which rules over the land, their rank can be compared to an emperor or king. \nThe Pasha is not elected, nor do they need the consent of citizens, there is usually an heir associated with the late Pasha. If not, there is underground fighting using manipulation, alliances and assassination. In this case one of the viziers or those of court related rank can succeed the position as Pasha. \nThe Pasha were introduced when the people of Calimshan were freed from slavery and people with high influence began to increase their power. Laws do not affect a Pasha, as they are able to do anything, they deem fit. For example, the SylPasha Ralan el Pesarkhal refused all audiences. Even when deities came knocking at the palace gates, they received an audience with the Pasha's vizier (Adviser.) \nMost Pasha give into the luxuries of their position and give every decision and task to their viziers. The viziers then give other people these tasks and oversee them, this has led to many viziers becoming corrupt and exploiting their power. \nPasha's come with their own personal harem their harems range depending on the Pasha's preference. There has been a range of between 1-10 concubines ( Jhasina) recorded in recent history, however it’s expected that a Pasha can have as many as they deem fit. \nAnother reason the Pasha's of history were influenceable was their statistical power, Pasha's are usually a minimum of level 10. Pasha Ralan el Pesarkhal was statistically level 19 at around 60 years old, and he has been slacking since his succession as Pasha. \nIn 1385 Calim and Memnom (two powerful elementals) broke free of their crystal prisons, they sought revenge and claimed their respective cities back from the humans. Calimand Memnom where then banished from to their home plane in 1450. However, up until late 1479 air genasi still dominated Calimshan taking humans as slaves. The people in Memnom stayed enslaved until mid-1480 while the people of Calimport were freed late 1479. \nA man named Sa","cbCaiiSUNNBnFwLK","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiiSUNNBnFwLK","pdf",6616008,"English","# PART 1 | FANCINESS\n## Society and economy\n## Magic in daily life and trade\n## Government: the Pasha and succession\n## Viziers and corruption\n## Historical background and revolt","[{\"question\":\"Why is worship in Calimshan often tolerated or welcomed?\",\"answer\":\"Gods of any alignment are welcomed because the people expect materialistic benefits from worship.\"},{\"question\":\"How does Calimshan’s economy and social attitude affect professions?\",\"answer\":\"Most people chase fast money, so adventurers are looked down upon and farmers are rare; charity-based living is also heavily discriminated against.\"},{\"question\":\"How is power structured in Calimshan’s government?\",\"answer\":\"Calimshan is governed by a Pasha with near-total freedom from laws, typically relying on viziers to manage decisions and tasks, which can lead to corruption.\"}]","Calimshan - Part 1 - Fanciness | PDF",1791277861]
