closely relatedto the National Education Phi-losophy.”  \nThe UPSR and PT3 examina-tions were fully abolished in 2022by the then senior minister of ed-ucation Datuk Mohd Radzi MdJidin and replaced with the im-plementation of PBD.  \n# UPSR was introduced in 1988\n\nwith the fundamental aim ofmastering the 4M:reading,writ-ing,arithmetic and reasoning,while PT3 was implemented in2014 to replace the Lower Sec-ondary Assessment(PMR).  \nOn Sept 15,Deputy Prime Min-ister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad ZahidHamidi called for a review of theeducation policy on examina-tions for Year 6 and Form 3 stu-dents.  \nThis,he said,was necessary fol-lowing revelations that 27 percent of Year 1 pupils nationwidehad problems with reading,writ-ing and arithmetic.  \nFormer education ministerDatuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid
