The contents cover introduction and commentary, an assignment brief, learner work, and assessment documentation. The commentary explains how the assignment brief supports Learning Aims A and B, emphasizes that learning aims must not be split into discrete tasks, and clarifies how pass, merit, and distinction criteria are judged. It evaluates a storyboard and an implemented website, including navigation, page count, layout diagrams, and multimedia behaviour, and notes specific strengths and minor issues.",{"@graph":14,"@context":73},[15,34,56],{"@type":16,"itemListElement":17},"BreadcrumbList",[18,23,27,31],{"item":19,"name":20,"@type":21,"position":22},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",1,{"item":24,"name":25,"@type":21,"position":26},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/","Document",2,{"item":28,"name":29,"@type":21,"position":30},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/exam/","Exam",3,{"item":32,"name":10,"@type":21,"position":33},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/btec-introductory-level-1-sample-marked-learner-work-subject-information-technology-unit-it9-creating-awebsite-contents-1-introduction-and-commentary/622351/",4,{"url":32,"name":10,"@type":35,"image":36,"author":41,"headline":10,"publisher":44,"fileFormat":47,"inLanguage":8,"description":12,"dateModified":48,"datePublished":49,"encodingFormat":47,"isAccessibleForFree":50,"interactionStatistic":51},"DigitalDocument",{"url":37,"@type":38,"width":39,"height":40},"https://docshare.wps.com/thumbnails/btec-introductory-level-1-sample-marked-learner-work-subject-information-technology-unit-it9-creating-awebsite-contents-1-introduction-and-commentary/622351.png","ImageObject",300,407,{"name":42,"@type":43},"Chumphorn","Person",{"url":19,"name":45,"@type":46},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-11-06","2026-10-20",true,{"@type":52,"interactionType":53,"userInteractionCount":55},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":54},"ViewAction",7,{"@type":57,"mainEntity":58},"FAQPage",[59,65,69],{"name":60,"@type":61,"acceptedAnswer":62},"What are the focus areas for Learning Aims A and B in Unit IT9?","Question",{"text":63,"@type":64},"Learning Aim A focuses on creating a storyboard for a website that will be developed into the site. Assessment Record Sheet 17 \nYou will need to refer to the appropriate specification forUnit IT9: Creating a Website alongside these samplematerials . \nNote: \nThe learner work generated is an exemplar of standard fora particular Assignment Brief . We expect centres to usethis resource to exemplify how to structure a response toa task . We also encourage centres to use this work tostandardise their Assessment teams and demonstrate tolearners the level of work expected to achieve thedifferent targeted grades outcome . \n# 1 . Introduction and Commentary\n\nThe learner work that follows has been assessed accurately tonational standards . This \nis one example of Merit achievement .The assignment brief covers Learning Aims A and B .The Assignment Brief \nThere are no authorised assignment briefs available as yet and theone used here is structured on the suggested scenario given withinthe specification and has been adapted by the centre to fit localneeds, by way of encouraging the learner to use the website topromote a hobby . When writing Assignment Briefs to be used for theassessment of the BTEC Level 1 Introductory suite of qualifications, the Assessor should ensure that all tasks clearly meet the targetedassessment criteria . \nThe structure of the tasks will always target an entire learning aim. This is a fundamental cornerstone of this suite, as it enables anylearner to achieve the best grade for them . \nThe assessment criteria are not a set of sequential activities but away of making a judgement . For example, if a Pass specifies a‘description’ and a Merit an ‘analysis’, these do not require twodifferent activities but rather one activity through which somelearners will provide only description evidence and others will alsoprovide analysis evidence . \nA Learning Aim must NOT be broken down into discrete tasks . It is notacceptable to have tasks or sub-tasks that target, for example, aPass criterion only . All tasks must encourage the learner tochallenge themselves and aim for the highest level of personalachievement . \nIn this instance the Assignment Brief contains one task for LearningAim A and one task for Learning Aim B . The Assignment Brief presentedis fit for purpose . \nThe overarching task for Learning Aim A is the creation of astoryboard for a website which will then be developed into thewebsite itself . The mode of presentation for the storyboard is notedas open-ended . However, the website must be produced using suitableweb development software as noted in the Essential Resources sectionof the specification (page 81) . This is appropriate as it will allowthe learner to choose the way to present the storyboard whilst then \ndemonstrating competence in specific software . There is sufficientscope for learners at all levels to achieve . \nThe overarching requirement for Learning Aim B is the use of the taskto ‘review the website explaining what went well, what did not gowell, what changes were made during the process and how you wouldimprove it for the future . ’ This embraces Learning Aim B fully and, again, allows for full coverage of the levels . \nThe Learner Work \nAlways use the Essential information for assessment decisions sectionin the specification for clarification on when an assessmentcriterion can be awarded . This provides amplification to the gradingcriteria . Reference to this assessment guidance will ensure that theassessment of the evidence that the learner has produced fully meetsthe quantitative and qualitative requirements of the criterion .When assessing the learner’s work it is important that the assessorlooks for where the learner has produced evidence of a quality thatis appropriate to the command verb in the assessment cr","cbCainekE8BewfIv","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCainekE8BewfIv","pdf",1544381,"English","# 1.
