mistress was on holidaytoday and that she had planned something nice.TheyweregoingtogototheZOO.Assoonashehadwipedthesleep from his eyes Bruno decided to go for a strollround the house to see who else was awake.He went tothe kitchen doorand scratched with his paw which indoggy language,means 'please open the door'.  \nThere was noreply sohe tried to seeinside by standingupright on his hind legs.The kitchen was empty.Everyone was still asleep.What a nuisance,hethought,as he was anxious to get on with the day.But  \nhehad togobacktohiskenneland waitfortheotherstostir.  \nOn his way backto thekennelhesuddenly hadanidea.Perhaps his friend Minnie,the cat next door,would beawake.He decided to go and see.When he pushed thegarden gate where Minnie lived it gave a loud squeakwhichshe heardandcamerunning towards him.Aftergreeting each other Bruno told Minnieabout the plansfor that day.Minnie didn't know what a zoo was soBruno explained to her about all the different animalsthat lived there.Minnie was very excitedand wanted tocome too.She asked Bruno if there was a chance thatshe would be allowed to go.Bruno thought that could  \neasily be arranged as his mistress was very the zoo.  \nThere were a lot of people queuing to get in at the zooand Bruno's mistress had to wait some time to buy thetickets.While he waited Bruno played with the otherdogs in the queue.Nearby was a stand sellingtomatoes,peanuts and biscuits for the monkeys andother animals.Bruno had 20p to spend and had greatfun choosing what he wanted.He gave Minnie thepeanuts,his mistress the tomatoes and kept thebiscuits forhimself.Hetookabig biteoutofone ofthemand found thatittasted rathernice!His mistressscold-ed him,saying that the biscuits were for the animalsand not for him.Minnie began to feel rather nervouswith all the people and after seeing some of the verylarge animals inside.She wasn't sure she had thecourage to go in but Bruno said that it was quite safeand thatall the animals were
