office  \nThe Japanese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine (JARM) officially nominates Professor Kazuhisa Domen as a candidate of the Executive Committee 2016–2018 of ISPRM.  \nThe following is the formal declaration of the candidate, Professor Kazuhisa Domen, in which he states that he fulfills the requirements to become member of the Executive Committee:  \n(a) Professor Kazuhisa Domen obtained a Medical Doctor degree in 1986 and the Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (PRM) specialist title in 1992. He was also awarded the degree of Doctor of Medical Science by Keio University in 1995.  \n(b) He has more than 29 years of PRM practice.  \n(c) He is an actively participating member of national and international PRMor related organizations; he is also an active member of JARM, ISPRM, Society for Neuroscience, Japanese Society of Prosthetics and Orthotics, Japanese Society of Dysphagia Rehabilitation, and Japanese Society for Neural Repair and Neurorehabilitation.  \n(d) He actively practices and participates in organizational activities in Japan; he is also a board member of JARM responsible for the Editorial Committee and the International Affairs Committee, the Vice-Chairperson of the Executive Committee of ISPRM2019, and a member of the ICF Committee of JARM.  \n(e) He is an active member of the ISPRM (both individually and through the National Society)  \nMasazumi Mizuma, MD, PhD  \nChairperson  \nThe Japanese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine  \nA brief account of my envisaged contribution to ISPRM  \nThe Japanese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine (JARM) has half a century of history and a large membership base of 10,000 physicians, including 2,000 board-certified physiatrists. I, Professor Kazuhisa Domen, have been practicing PRM in Japan for approximately 30 years; I have particularly specialized in neurorehabilitation and stroke outcome research. As a board member of JARM, I am heading the project of initiating the publication of a JARM-associated journal in English. If I am elected as the member of Executive Committee, I will do my best to contribute to the development and growth of ISPRM. I am personally concerned with the following matters:  \n1. Promoting the status of ISPRM and increasing the number of memberships  \n2. Facilitating information exchange and international collaboration in various fields of research in PRM  \n3. Sharing of educational contents for young doctors to become PRM specialists  \nIn 2015, in Berlin, I made a presentation for the bid to host ISPRM 2019 in Kobe, Japan. Now, I am the Vice-Chairperson of the Executive Committee of ISPRM 2019 of JARM with the opportunity to host the JARM domestic annual meeting in 2019, in which approximately 5,000 members will participate.
