Nova registers, then drinks excessive water to stabilize withdrawal-like symptoms while waiting to be called.","Nova’s eyes fluttered open, there was no alarm to wake him up. The setting, the apartment, it was the same as yesterday. Though for one final layer of confirmation, he looks to see that his hand is still a paw.  \n“Still Brewster…” he muttered, almost sounding defeated.  \nHe’s still stuck as this terrible person, and everything that happened yesterday was no dream. It was real, all of it was real. And now, he felt like he should do something to get out as soon as possible. But how?  \n. . .  \n. . .  \nNo…he’s not gonna be like that. He’s gotta think positive! Just like he was taught to do. Well…what good things happened? First, there was the fact that he did get to push the detonator, that’s good. And…well, how many got to say they’ve been to another world? Another universe? Well, they’re the same anyway. He might be the first one here, and he even got to eat his first meal in another world too. That’s good.  \nThough he also learned that Brewster is infamous for a few things. He’s kind of a bum, and pretty destructive. Those are things that he now has to tackle because Brewster isn’t there anymore. So…should he do the opposite?  \nMaybe not right now. That’d be a bit jarring. But more importantly, he doesn’t feel too well. He doesn’t feel all that rested despite yesterday, and the slow throb s of a headache are pounding inside him. Not only that, but he feel s hot. He took a look under his orange jacket to see that his fur is damp with sweat.  \nIt’s a feeling that he hadn’t felt in a long time…  \n“Oh, morning Nova.”  \nFrom where he lay, Nova could see that Lu Yi has now woken up.  \n“Oh, morning Lu Yi.”  \n“We’re gonna go to the doctor’s for your MRI scan.”  \nRight…the doctor’s. Well, that was going to happen regardless. Lu Yi did say it was just to see if Brewster simply conjured him because of the head impact from their bounty hunt yesterday. Some part of him did wonder if that was true…but that couldn’t be. He got here through that…thing.  \nThe thing that had risen from the earth. It sent him to this world somehow, inhabiting an Esper as a result.  \n“Let’s get this over with…”  \nThe walk was uneventful, and the people had once again moved to avoid him. In merely a minute, Nova found himself standing before another foundation. A rod of sorts is the symbol with a winged snake curling around and over it, completely made of bronze. And beside the symbol lay the building’s title.  \nBronze Serpent Medical Center  \n“Uh…just asking, but are you also paying for this?” Nova turned to Lu Yi.  \nHe didn’t look particularly pleased at the notion, but he did nod.“Yeah, much of your bounty’s share was spent on repairing the damages Brewster made prior. If you had to pay for it, that’d be robbery. Thankfully for me, being part of the Bounty League gets mea discount.”  \n“D-Don’t I also need medical records?”  \n“Oh, don’t worry. You’re, well…Brewster, is a regular here. They have everything they need.”  \nNova gulped as they entered, seeing various humans and Espers waiting at the front desk. While the humans are as…human as they could be, the Espers are something else.  \nSo many different shapes and forms, it is a wonder how they function in their day-to-day lives.  \n…Then again, he is a dog. A homeless dog to be precise.  \nSome of them looked at him with little smiles, like seeing old friends. Though the familiarity is superficial, he could tell. They probably only smiled because they’ve seen Brewster here so many times.  \n“Name?” asked the clerk.  \n“Lu Yi, I’m here to sign in for Brewster.”  \n“Brewster? What did he do this time?” the unsurprised tone stung him.  \n“I mean…it’s small, but…it’s more complicated than that.”  \nSilence passed, and Nova could feel the clerk looking at him despite looking elsewhere. He didn’t say anything, he just wanted to get the whole thing over with.  \n“...Alright…”  \nThe clerk gave Lu Yi the papers and urged Nova to sit next to him, which he did.
