Inside, there’sa big field surrounded by all kinds of trees and patches of lush, green grass . Around late afternoon, all the kids who live in the colony come out to play. Who can stay home then?  \nMahua, Ananda, Nafisa and I are standing on the field. Our new neighbor and friend, Saniu Marma, comes up to us .  \n”Bouchi is a fun game,” Saniu says. ”I used to play with my friends in the last colony I lived in. Will you all play with me?”  \nMahua says,”Of course! We’ll definitely play.”  \nWe set up the game the way Saniu tells us to. First we make two circles on either end of the field with our shoes. One big, another small. The big circle represents the husband’s house, and the small circle is the wife’s house.  \nAdita, Ikra, and Fahim come and join us . Saniu divides us into two teams. Mahua, Ananda, Ikra, and I are one team. Saniu, Nafiza, Fahim, and Adita are on the other team. The coin toss decides which team will start as the husband’s side and who will start as the wife’s side. Our team wins the toss so we start as the husband’s side.  \nWe decide Mahua will play the wife so she goes into the wife’s house. The rest of us stand in the husband’s house. Saniu’s team must guard the wife’s house and block us from breaking Mahua out. Ananda’s job is to get Mahua from the wife’s house and bring her back to our side, the husband’s house. Ananda steps out of the husband’s house, takes a deep breath, and chases after the team guarding the wife’s house while saying ”  \nchieeee”. Ananda is safe as long as he doesn’t take a breath.  \nBut before he can return, Ananda runs out of breath.
