It outlines an approach based on assessing progress after completing all BOOST chapters, then focusing on memorizing key outline rules and concepts. The plan recommends completing full test-bank multiple-choice practice exams and revisiting the simulations that were most difficult, while avoiding overreliance on repeated question exposure.","BOOST CPA REVIEWTM \nHOW TO STRUCTURE YOUR \nFINAL REVIEW PERIOD \nBackground: \nThis outline and related video provide guidance on how to structure your final review period up to two or three days before your actual exam. Your strategy during the two or three days before your actual exam and the day of your actual exam will be completely different. So, you know what is coming! There will be a separate outline/video for taking your actual CPA exam. \nDuring the BOOST program, we have consistently noted that you should dedicate two weeks for final review (full time) . As was suggested in the introduction outline/video to the BOOST program, if you are working, consider taking the four or so days off from work before your exam date to dedicate as much time as possible to your final review (i.e., for your final push at the end) . \nWhere are you currently with your preparation? \nTo determine your final review strategy, it is important to assess where you are currently with your preparation. After completing all of the chapters of BOOST CPA ReviewTM, we assume that you have: \n1. Listened to all of the BOOST videos. \n2. Worked through all of the multiple choice and simulations in your other review course. \n3. Created a subset of the BOOST outlines available in a useful format for you to memorize/learn (this could be the actual BOOST outlines with important items highlighted in a specific color, a condensed version of the BOOST outlines you created, or your own flashcards typically created in a program such as ANKI, Quizlet, etc. ) . \n4. Memorized at least 60 to 70% of the key concepts in the subset of outlines in item 3. \n5. Completed a number of practice tests (with 50 to 75 multiple choice each) where you have combined the material as noted on pages 1 to 2 of the document “Content Comparison of BOOST and Becker, Roger or Wiley CPAexcel\" . \n6. Have a list of simulations that were difficult. \nAs noted in the introduction to BOOST CPA ReviewTM, these suggestions have been developed based on 20 plus years of experience with the CPA exam and 20 plus years as a university professor. However, you should adapt these suggestions as needed based on your study style and where you are currently with your preparation . \nSteps in your final review period: \nSTEP ONE: Spend a few days reviewing the BOOST outlines and getting the material in your memory. \nIn our opinion, the first step should NOT be completing the multiple choice and simulations from all chapters combined. After completing the multiple choice and simulations in any CPA Review course two or so times, you will begin to recognize the multiple choice and simulations and just know the answer. This is not a good thing because you may not know the underlying material, rather you are just getting the multiple choice and/or simulations correct because you have seen it so much. \nThus, we suggest you start your final review period spending a few days reviewing the key material and getting it into your memory. Why? because when you start combining all of the modules together and doing multiple choice, we want you to have the base knowledge in your memory so you get the most value out of these multiple choice and simulations. \nWe really want to emphasize the importance of knowing the key rules and concepts in the outlines. You cannot expect to get questions correct on your actual CPA exam if you don’t know these concepts. The simulations and a good number of multiple choice on your actual CPA exam will not be the exact same questions as those in your other review course. So, you have to know the key concepts! \nDo we believe you need to know every rule in the BOOST outlines (especially the items in bold) to pass the CPA exam? The answer is not every rule but most of them. The BOOST outlines are significantly shorter than the textbooks from other CPA review courses. Thus, these outlines only include the most important concepts that are absolutely critical to passing the CPA exam.
