Vitamin D has a big role in immune function, healthy hormone levels and bone density. You can find vitamin D in fatty fish, whole milk dairy and other fortified foods, as well as from sunlight exposure but these rarely provide adequate amounts to support our needs. Adding in 1000IU of Vitamin D can help support healthy levels of this vitamin in your body. I recommend taking this vitamin alongside a meal improve absorption. Finding a supplement that also includes Vitamin K is also helpful for absorption. Speak with your doctor or dietitian for more information on adding this supplement to your winter routine! \nThe BEST Baked Sweet Potatoes \nIngredients: \n-2lbs of sweet potatoes (3 medium) \n-2 tablespoons of olive oil \n-1 tablespoon of maple syrup \n-3/4 teaspoon of salt \n-1/4 teaspoon black pepper \n-1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon \n-1/4 teaspoon of chipotle chili powder (optional) \nInstructions: \n1. Preheat the oven to 425 and line a rimmed baking sheet with foil or parchment paper \n2. Scrub the sweet potatoes, dry them well and the peel if desired \n3. Trim off the ends of the sweet potatoes and then chopinto 1-inch thick rounds \n4. Add sweet potatoes to a large bowl and toss with oil, syrup and seasonings then lay them on the baking sheet \n5. Roast the sweet potatoes for 20 minutes then remove from oven, flip and bake for another 10-20 minutes. Remove from the oven and serve immediately or allow to cool and store.
