We hope that this booklet will give a sound basis on which to make the decision making process easier.  \nMake sure you have all the information you need before you make your subject choices. In school, many people are available to help you. These include your Form Tutor, Subject Teachers, Heads of Department, Ms C Atkinson (Year 8 & 9 Leader) , Miss Brownell (Careers Leader) and Mr Colton (Curriculum Leader) . Do ask lots of questions about the subjects/qualifications that interest you. Think about:  \n· The subjects you like and enjoy. You will often be more successful at what you enjoy!  \n· A good balance of subjects.  \n· Where you want to be in the future: which subjects will help you with Sixth Form, University or employment.  \nDo not choose courses because:  \n· Your friends have chosen it.  \n· You like the teacher—you may have a different teacher next year.  \n· You have never studied it before and it sounds exciting and different.  \nWHAT HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE TO HELP YOU MAKE DECISIONS?  \nTeachers will always be happy to discuss options in lessons if you have a question. Careers information and lots of links to external websites are available using our own school website.  \nWHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT?  \nSubject Staff will talk to you in lessons about the courses they offer in Years 10 and 11. A dedicated section of the website will hold introduction films for every option subject and there will be an introductory talk from Mr Colton explaining what happens and when.
