its fellowearthsides of immortality.I sing  \nnot here,as once,of love and his first swallowthat does not make,because it is,the spring.  \nNor was it written as other poems werebecause of human beauty and brief grace,that with the bright assurance of a starmove in the heart to their predestined place,  \nas smoothly as the moon,and not less argent,nor to the sun a hot allegiance lending,  \nbut kindled of themselves with man's insurgentclaim that the seal of beauty is its ending.  \nIt was not mine to make,but as the pool  \nthey called Bethesda,when the angel stirred it,was with some alien virtue wonderful,  \nso this was written,as though I overheard it  \nwhispered beyond the misted curtains,screeningthis world from that,so faint and yet so litwith fame from far,that life itself was leaningback,like a runner storming into it.  \nThe moment passed;it is not given to mento overtake those echoes with a word.I am as sure they will not come again,as I am certain they were overheard.  \nBut what they were I can no longer guess,nor know if anywhere in this a signremains of that inhuman loveliness.I only know this poem is not mine.  \nA VERY few of these poems have
